Wittenberg Lions Scholarship

WITTENBERG LIONS SCHOLARSHIP

To help encourage young men and women to pursue a degree from an institution of higher education, the Wittenberg Lions Club offers multiple $1,000 dollar scholarships. Primary consideration will be given to students who meet the following criteria.

Scholarship. Major emphasis will be given to cumulative grade point average and class rank with consideration for advanced courses taken. Leadership. Consideration will be given to leadership ability in class, extra curricular activities and community affairs. Citizenship. Consideration will be given to character and conduct. Service. Consideration will be given to contributions toward school and community affairs.

The Scholarship Committee will select the scholarship recipients. If there are more than two highly qualified individuals the same year a third scholarship could be given.

Scholarship Guidelines

1. Application is due to the Witt-Birn office by 1:00pm on April 15th

2. Applicant must be accepted or have acceptance pending in an institution of higher education.

3. Announcement of the award will be made on Senior Awards Night.

4. The Lions scholarship will be made payable to the recipient in two installments, first at the completion of the fall semester and there is evidence of enrollment for the following semester. The second will be paid at the beginning of the recipient’s third semester. If the recipient does not follow through with plans for school or is not in good academic standing the scholarship will not be awarded.

5. Information will be reviewed by the Wittenberg Lions Scholarship Committee and will remain confidential.
