Ocean Shores Outdoor Recreation Club 58 Dunes Lane (360)289-2318 Ocean City, WA 98569 Issue 2 March 2010 HAPPY SPRING TO EVERYONE!! MEMBERSHIP DUES INCREASE Due to rising costs of maintenance and upkeep of the Club, the dues have been raised to $620.00 for April 1, 2010 through March 31st, 2011. BUYING, REPLACING OR BRINGING A TRAILER TO THE CLUB????? As has been mentioned in three (3) previous Sandpipers in the last year and a half, before buying, replacing or bringing a trailer to the Club, check with the Board of Directors FIRST to make sure it is acceptable by county and Club rules. If you fail to do this and bring something to the Club that is NOT acceptable, you will become an unhappy camper. Someone just did this and now the unit will have to be removed, costing the person money and the board of Directors time dealing with the issue. Pick up the phone, call Bonnie and ask for a Board member’s phone number and call. Don’t ask an employee of the Club, don’t ask another member, don’t ask someone in Ocean Shores or at the casino or even at the Safeway in Aberdeen - - - - ASK A BOARD MEMBER and get the right information the first time. If this message isn’t clear, please let the Board of Directors know. We will then work on making it simpler to understand. CLUBHOUSE RE-SIDING As has been planned and discussed, the re-siding of the Clubhouse has begun and will be in process over the next several weeks. Please bear with the mess and envision the final product!! ELECTION RESULTS Steve Richards and Julie Hemphill were both elected to the Board of Directors for a three-year term. To Mr. Anonymous: The voting was done according to the Club Bylaws, which state that a recording of positions on the Board of Directors needs to be accomplished by a vote of the general membership. LOOKING AHEAD TO ELECTIONS IN 2011 Please be thinking about elections in February of 2011 as President Dave, and Vice-President Bruce are both retiring from the Board of Directors after serving many years; and Howard Armfield’s position will be up for election. We need committed volunteers to keep the Club running smoothly, so put on those thinking caps or volunteer yourself. We are friendly, easy-going folks to work with; yet professional in all dealings. BYLAWS AND RULES, REGULATIONS, & POLICIES: Can’t find your copy of the Bylaws and/or Rules, Regulations and Policies? If you have email, Bonnie can send them to you electronically. REMNANTS OF WINTER AT THE CLUB If you haven’t visited the Club since last December, remember we had over a week of 18 degree tempera- tures and when you turn on your water there may be leaks! We had 51 sites with leaking spigots/plastic tubing/elbows and had to turn off the water to these sites. When not at the Club, turn the water off to your RV. Also, several tarps and awnings have blown off this winter, so you might check those for secure fastenings the next time you visit. NOTARY PUBLIC IN OFFICE Need documents notarized? Bonnie, our office manager, now is a notary public. Remember to bring your documents to the Club anytime the office is open, Tues-Saturday from 9am – 3pm. The notary fee is $2.00 per document.
