Transitional Housing for Adult Survivors of Traumatic Brain Injury

JOB TITLE: Executive Director

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Executive Director ensures smooth operation of Wing House; oversees all operations, facilities management, financial planning, staffing, and resident decisions; ensures that all licensing requirements are met; and works in close collaboration with the Board of Directors. Administrative duties include program growth, development and marketing. The administrator will also be responsible for staff recruitment, orientation and training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide strong leadership and vision to support the development of Wing House and its employees

2. Knowledge of MN State Systems and working with outside licensing standards and credentialing.

3. Strong policy and procedure development knowledge.

4. Supervise the Office Manager, Program Director, Director of Nursing,, and Maintenance Manager

5. Provide backup for all emergency issues and/or significant incidents 6. Work with Board regarding the development of an annual budget, allocation of authority for budget, staffing and personnel decisions

7. Establish and monitor appropriate accounting controls

8. Coordinate regular staff meetings

9. Provide training opportunities to management personnel in team building, supervision, and personnel management

10. Publicize the activities of the organization, its programs and goals

11. Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with governmental agencies, community groups and organizations

12. Work with the Board in developing a long-range strategy which achieves the mission of the organization and makes consistent and timely progress

EXPERIENCE AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. A Bachelor’s degree with a business, social services, education or rehabilitation concentration is preferred.

2. Work experience in a medical, educational or rehabilitation setting.

3. Strong understanding of people with brain injuries through previous work experiences. Five or more years of supervisory experience is necessary, and work experience with Independent Living Skills or Vocational Rehabilitation is a plus, as well as working with brain injury clients in a community based setting

4. Financial management experience, including preparing and monitoring budgets and working with an accounting system

5. Supervision of billing for Medical Assistance, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and other insurance programs

6. Excellent speaking, written and interpersonal communication skills

7. Ability to work as part of a team

8. Successful experience leading staff and collaborating with health care professionals

9. Ability to teach and motivate staff and residents

10. Demonstrated emotional maturity, reliability, tact, integrity, professionalism, good judgment and a positive attitude

11. Knowledge of community resources and how to access them 12. Skilled in public relations and marketing strategies

13. Organized, collaborative, compassionate and respectful of others

14. Excellent time management skills, self-directed, good problem solving skills, and able to execute work activities independently CANDIDATES MUST ALSO

 possess a valid Minnesota driver’s license
