Job Title: Premier League 4 Sport Coordinator

Hours of Work: 35

Department: Everton in the Community (EITC)

Location: Goodison Park, and Delivery Sites across Merseyside

Responsible to: Schools Education Manager -Mick King

Responsible for: PL4 Sport Coaches, Volunteers

Role Summary

To coordinate Everton in the Community’s community PL4 Sport programme working with EITC staff, partner staff and young people to implement and deliver a first class sports programme.

To maximise high quality sporting opportunities for young people aged 11-25 years across Merseyside using the powerful brands of the Premier League and Everton in the Community.

To coordinate the delivery of Hockey, Badminton, Boxing, Volleyball, Basketball, Judo, Netball and Table Tennis sessions for young people, aged 11 to 25 years old, at local secondary schools and community venues.

To work locally with national governing bodies (NGB’s), the county sports partnership, school partners and local sport clubs and manage NGB Level 2 coaches

To formalise links between schools and sport clubs in terms of young people’s participation and develop a player pathway that allows a fluid transition for young people to be referred from a satellite session to a local sports club .

Key Responsibilities Community Engagement:  To ensure activities are safe and suitable.  To supervise and support participants ensuring protocols and procedures are followed at all times.  Create new sporting hubs and satellite sessions to engage, retain, and sustain young people in Hockey, Badminton, Boxing, Volleyball, Basketball, Judo, Netball and Table Tennis.  To formalise links between schools and local sport clubs in terms of young people’s participation,  Develop a player pathway to allow a fluid transition for young people to be referred from a satellite session to a local sports club.  Prepare and deliver sports provision ensuring high quality, enjoyable learning experiences centred on the needs of the participants.  Enable participants to become engaged in local activities and develop self-confidence via tailored programmes.  Provide support/advice to young people and facilitate their personal development plans.  To identify & meet the needs of young people. Programme Development and Delivery:

 To utilise and manage a budget to deliver the project.  To deliver in accordance with all LCFC schemes of work.  To produce & adhere to up to date session plans for all delivery.  To complete all Risk Assessment procedures and protocols.  To carry out Quality Assurance.  To provide records of attendance for monitoring and evaluating purposes.

Partnership working:

 To establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with NGB’s, local sport clubs, and secondary schools.  To coordinate and host regular steering group meetings with partners and agencies.  To work in partnership with other agencies identified by the Schools Education Manager to identify individuals, groups, and organisations to support and develop the project.  To work through a partnership approach to identify the barriers preventing easy access to services for local people within their locality.  Work in partnership with other workers and agencies as necessary.

Events and Training:  To recruit, train, and support relevant coaching staff in their CPD to ensure appropriate skills, knowledge, and experiences are in place for delivery.  To support and identify volunteers to be signpost to relevant qualifications.  Identify young people and organisations from the community who may benefit from the programmes.  Represent EITC at all local community events across our target areas of delivery.  Contribute to the national network for PL4S though the sharing of good practice, in addition to attending regional and national conferences and events.

Monitoring and Evaluation:  To carry out administrative duties as necessary e.g. maintain accurate attendance, registers and quality assurance.  To contribute towards the evaluation of the various initiatives and ensure monitoring systems are consistently maintained as directed by the Community Director.  Produce monitoring reports to the Premier League, Directors and external partners.  Any other relevant duties as requested by the Schools Education Manager determined appropriate for the role Welfare, Development & Support . To promote and encourage self-confidence, esteem and empowerment within the team and young people attending the programmes . Oversee group work which enables young people to work constructively with others. . Work with individuals to involve them in their own development; encourage individuals to be involved in the planning and delivery of community sessions. . Work as a reflective practitioner, and encourage project team staff to reflect on their own delivery and learning throughout the project. . Monitor the welfare and development of the project team and individuals over the course of the programme. .

Other . To maintain appropriate case management records on an IT secure information system or in manual written case files with data protection and confidentiality a priority . Promote equal opportunities, including developing awareness of young people around these issues. . Monitor potential safeguarding risks and work with the Safeguarding Officer of EITC, and the Head of Safeguarding for Everton Football Club to promote good practice throughout the programme. . To undertake any other additional duties, consistent with the role as may be deemed appropriate by your line manager

. Specific experience in a successful project . Experience of working alongside organisations management capacity, including all aspects of in the youth justice sector, such as youth process development and execution offending services, fire service engagement or the police . Experience of working with hard-to-engage or vulnerable young people, or groups facing . An understanding of effective practice research similar challenges on early intervention theory and programmes . Knowledge of project management challenges, . A track record planning, organising and techniques and tools overseeing youth/community led initiatives
