Monday---Topic 3 Lesson 3-2: Recognizing Numbers on a Ten-Frame Objective: Students will learn to recognize numbers on a ten-frame, noting the relationship of those numbers to 5 and 10. Common Core Standard: 1.OA.5 Teacher will review Lesson 3-1 and introduce today’s lesson 3-2 with computer CD topic 3 Lessons 1 and 2. 1. Daily Common Core Review worksheet 3-2: Teacher will place the worksheet under the document camera. Students will discuss to complete together to review the concepts: writing number sentences, modeling basic facts, and representing quantities. 2. Develop the Concept: Interactive: (worksheet 95) Teacher will use blank mini-ten frame and counters to provide students whose Popsicle stick names are drawn out the opportunity to help learn how to find the number shown on a ten-frame. Follow directions on the sheet 95. 3. Develop the Concept: Visual: Teacher will discuss the tops of worksheets 96-97 to model how to write numbers shown on ten- frames. Also, the class will work together on problems on worksheets 96-98 to answer questions posed on teacher’s guide these pages and to develop the concept. Reteaching 3-2 and Enrichment 3-2 worksheets will be discussed and worked through together also. 4. Independent Practice: Students will complete Practice worksheet 3-2. This will be checked and rechecked by teacher until students have correct answers. 5. Formative Assessment: Students will complete Quick Check 3-2 worksheet.

Tuesday---Topic 3 Lesson 3-3: Parts of 10 Objective: Students will show 10 as two parts. Common Core Standard: 1.OA.6 Teacher will review Lesson 3-2 and introduce today’s lesson 3-3 with computer CD topic 3 Lessons 2 and 3. 1. Daily Common Core Review worksheet 3-3: Teacher will place the worksheet under the document camera. Students will discuss to complete together to review the concepts: writing number sentences, modeling basic facts, applying basic facts, and writing number sentences. 2. Develop the Concept: Interactive: (worksheet 99) Teacher will use number cards 0-11 and counters to provide students whose Popsicle stick names are drawn out the opportunity to help show parts of 10 on a ten-frame. Follow directions at the bottom of sheet 99. 3. Develop the Concept: Visual: Teacher will discuss the tops of worksheets 100-101 to model how to use a ten-frame and counters to show how 10 can be broken into different parts. Also, class will work together on problems on worksheet pages 100-102 to answer questions posed on teacher’s guide these pages and to develop the concept. Reteaching 3-3 and Enrichment 3-3 worksheets will be discussed and worked through also. 4. Independent Practice: Students will complete Practice worksheet 3-3. This will be checked and rechecked until students have correct answers. 5. Formative Assessment: Students will complete Quick Check 3-3 worksheet.

Wednesday---Topic 3 Lesson 3-4: Finding Missing Parts of 10 Objective: Students will use counters and a part-part-whole mat to find missing parts of 10. Common Core Standards: 1.OA.4, 1.OA.6, 1.OA.8 Teacher will review Lesson 3-3 and introduce today’s lesson 3-4 with computer CD topic 3 Lessons 3 and 4. 1. Daily Common Core Review worksheet 3-4: Teacher will place the worksheet under the document camera. Students will discuss to complete together to review the concepts: modeling basic facts and applying basic facts. 2. Develop the Concept: Interactive: (worksheet 103) Teacher will use mini ten-frame, counters, and cups to provide students whose Popsicle stick names are drawn out the opportunity to help show how to use a part of 10 to help you find the missing part. Follow directions on teacher’s guide and sheet 103. 3. Develop the Concept: Visual: Teacher will discuss the tops of worksheets 104-105 to model how to find the missing part of 10 when you know the other part. Also, the class will work together on problems on worksheet pages 104-106 to answer questions posed on teacher’s guide these pages and to develop the concept. Reteaching 3- 4 and Enrichment 3-4 worksheets will be discussed and worked through also. 4. Independent Practice: Students will complete Practice worksheet 3-4. Thursday---Topic 2 Lesson 3-5: Problem Solving: Make a Table Objective: Students will make tables to solve problems. Common Core Standard: 1.OA.6 Teacher will review Lesson 3-4 and introduce today’s lesson 3-5 with computer CD topic 3 Lessons 4 and 5. 1. Daily Common Core Review worksheet 3-5: Teacher will place the worksheet under the document camera. Students will discuss to complete together to review the concepts: applying basic facts and ordering whole numbers. 2. Develop the Concept: Interactive: (worksheet 107) Teacher will use counters to provide students whose Popsicle names are drawn out the opportunity to help use a table to show the ways to make 10. Follow directions on teacher’s guide pg. 107 to complete worksheet same page. 3. Develop the Concept: Visual: Teacher will discuss the tops of worksheets 108-109 to model how to use tables to solve problems. Also, class will work together on problems on worksheet pages 108- 109 to answer posed questions on teacher’s guide these pages and to develop the concept. Reteaching 3-5 and Enrichment 3-5 worksheets will be discussed and worked through also. 4. Independent Practice: Students will complete Practice worksheet 3-5. Friday---Topic 3 Review: Five and Ten Relationships Objectives: Students will use counters and a ten-frame to model numbers up to 10, recognize numbers on a ten-frame, noting the relationship of those numbers to 5 and 10, show 10 as 2 parts, and use counters and a part-part- whole mat to find missing parts of 10. Common Core Standards: 1.OA.5, 1.OA.6, 1.OA.4 Teacher will use worksheets 111 and 112 to remodel concepts from the chapter. Students will help provide answers to questions on the worksheets. Then teacher will pull up the website http://www.ixl.com/math/grade-1 and choose the games that deal with ten-frames or ways to make 10. Teacher may also use the other math website on post-it note on computer for review of concept.
