Moorpark AYSO Region 363 8/13/2014 Minutes 7:30 pm Meeting called to Order
Attendance: Clare Forbes-Black, Robert Cross, Nathan Walker, Jeremy Kemp, Doug Laabs, Hilda Rezak, Bill Murray, Taylor Murray, Mike Acevedo, Lisa Viescas, Andrew Spett, Chadley Lazreg, Babak Saberi, Tom Gasbeck, Mary Stephens, Hilary Corbin, Bill Gratke, Reid Bengard
RC Report: Welcome to new board members, Clare Forbes-Black and Joe Bellomo.
Regional Treasurer’s Report: *Motion to update bankcard holders- William Gratke, Mindy Chandler, Rob Stephens, Chad Lazreg, and Graham Rice. Motion made by Tom Gasbeck and approved by the board. *Mindy Chandler will present the budget at next board meeting.
Regional Registrar’s Report: *Currently down 46 players from 2013- 1218 registered players *The goal is to get back to 2013 numbers *Coaches need to contact players ASAP in order to determine drops. *Currently have 7 openings in U7 Boys *Discussed U12 Boys playing with Simi on “odd” weekends *Season starts, Saturday, September 6th
Upper and Lower Division Directors: Reid Bengard *Coaches’ meeting wasn’t as organized as in past years *More communication needed between division directors and coaches *Discussed “requests” made on registration forms. Decided that Coach and Assistant Coach are the only requests to be honored. *Division Coordinators need to review balancing of teams
CVPA: There are 262 registered as 2014 volunteers
Regional Referee Report: Chad Lazreg *Referee mentoring program is starting and mentors have been contacted *Companion Course training: A basic referee course is taken online prior to referee field training. This cuts down the training from 2 days to 1 day. *Friday, Aug. 22nd- U7/8 training TBD near CLU *Saturday, Sep. 6th-U7/8 training at Arroyo Vista *Regional Referee Training Companion- September 11th & 12th, 6-9 pm *Sign up at eayso.org to enroll in referee training
Coach Administrator: Challenger Coaches Rob and Nathan introduced themselves. They will be running the U6 program Saturday mornings and skills programs during the week. James Gilligan will send out the sign-up link next week.
Intermediate Coach Training will take place the 23rd and 24th of August for U14, U16, and U19. We still need dates for U6-U8 training sessions. *The first week of September we will have additional field training offered. Extra Program Coordinator: Extra Tune-Up Tournament hosted 65 teams. Down from previous years. Volunteers and referees are needed. We’ll also need field set-up Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday at 6am.
The Extra schedule should be set by August 24th. The season begins September 6th.
Fall Season/ Calendar:
Team Parent Coordinator *Team Parent Meeting scheduled for Monday, August 25th *Banner Day scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 13th *Country Days-Saturday, Sept. 27th
Safety: “Medics on the Ball” will provide one person at the fields every Saturday
Other Business:
Fields- U10, U12, U14 teams need to take the nets down after final games
U6 Coaches that go through U6 online and Challenger will be U6 certified
Coaching Supplies to be distributed: Binders, First Aid Kits, Substitution Planners, game balls
Snack Bar Committee: Dean May, Janet Stuhr, Bill Gratke, and Reid Bengard will make up the Snack Bar Committee. They will develop a snack bar policy. The committee will determine a fair schedule/procedure for working the snack bar during the following:
