Muncy School District Board of Education Regular Monthly Public Meeting November 16, 2015

The Muncy School District Board of Directors held their regular monthly public meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Muncy Junior/Senior High School Library, 200 West Penn Street, Muncy, PA 17756

Present were: President Scott McLean, Vice President Mary Bennardi, Treasurer Carla Auten, Connie Coyner Rhondel Moyle, Lisa Sleboda, Robert Titman, and Sarah Woodward. Scott Johnson was absent.

Members of the Administration present were: Superintendent Craig Skaluba, Director of Curriculum and Instruction Kim Hamilton, Business Administrator David Edkin, and Solicitor David Smith.

President McLean called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited.

There were two visitors present.

Mrs. Auten moved to approve the minutes of the October 12, 2015 Committee Meetings, and the October 19, 2015 Regular Public Meeting of the Muncy School District Board of Directors. Ms. Sleboda seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

Mr. Buck and members of the band and chorus performed and discussed recent trips and performances.

Ms. Krista Ray of Blackboard ParentLink presented information about the possibility of an application for Muncy School District.

Mrs. Auten moved to approve the second reading and final approval of the following new and/or revised Board Policies:

101 – Philosophy of Education – District Mission Statement 102 – Academic Standards

Dr. Bennardi seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. (Copied in Minute Book)

Mr. Skaluba recommended keeping the revised emergency operating procedure(s) for armed intruder in first reading status.

Ms. Sleboda moved to approve the following October 2015 Financial Reports:

1. Treasurer’s Report 2. General Fund 4. Food Service Report 5. Student Activity Fund

Mrs. Auten moved to approve the following agreements:

Dr. Bennardi recommended approval of the PDE PlanCon Park K approval letter. Ms. Sleboda seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. (Copied in Minute Book)

Mrs. Coyner moved to approve the following out-of-state field trip request:

Honors Art Location: Corning Museum, Corning, New York Date: April 2016 Cost: No Cost to District

FBLA Location: Six Flags Amusement Park, Jackson, NJ Date: May 15, 2016 Cost: No Cost to District

Ms. Moyle seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

ADMINISTRATION

Dr. Bennardi recommended a 1.2% superintendent salary increase for 2016 as per the performance provisions of the superintendent’s employment contract. Ms. Sleboda moved to approve the recommendation. Mrs. Auten seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

There being no further business, Ms. Sleboda moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:52 p.m. Dr. Bennardi seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
