Prepare a research paper on the topics of sanitation and safety. Include the following:
Define the meaning of sanitation and safety as they relate to food service operations. Explain why these concepts are important.
Find a food service operation such as a hotel, restaurant, bakery, or cafeteria and interview the manager in order to analyze their procedures to uphold sanitation and safety standards. You will also be completing the following:
o Conduct a mock inspection by completing a Food Facility Self Inspection form (provided by instructor).
o Ask the manager how their operation stays within the parameters of local regulatory control.
o As the manager about the main challenges that may occur in regards to sanitation and safety.
o What solutions are applied to the challenges?
What solutions would you recommend to help solve the challenges presented?
Be prepared to share your report in class via power point presentation.
Paper Details:
Minimum 4 pages – APA Format Power Point presentation to be presented in front of class. No fewer than 3 references and please cite your sources according to APA format. Your report must be type written. Cover page should include instructor’s name, class section number, student name and date.
