Flying Display at Vineyard on Sunday, 6th October.

Bruce reported on this event and was happy with the area on which control models flew and also on being invited to take part in this event. Having the use of the R/C runway for C/L displays did limit the times to fly, given that the radio folk did not fly whist the C/L flying was in progress. The event was a great way to increase the exposure of model flying and to publicise the various disciplines of model flying. CLAS had a tent, courtesy of Doonside, and displayed the CLAS banner. In the 40 minutes allocated to CLAS, Reg and Bruce both flew models as did Peter Norrie. Dave Hegarty had a trainer available and some children tried their hand under Reg’s guidance. It is proposed that this event will be held again next year and Bruce has requested that a small area be set aside solely for control line, if this is possible. The event was quite well publicised and contact had been made with the local schools.

Albury Nationals.

There were questions raised about the programme in relation to New Year’s Day and also queries in regard to entry forms. Hon. Secretary will contact the VMAA to ascertain when entry forms will be out.

Facebook Page for CLAS.

Bruce advised that this is now up and running and explained how this would operate. He will act as the moderator and oversee proceedings. Members are encouraged to sign up as friends. Page 3.

GENERAL BUSINESS contd.

Calendar Dates.

A change of date was notified and requested that this be advised to members. Most regrettably, since the meeting, the executive have been made aware that this date change has impacted heavily on a NACA event which was already on the Calendar, and this was most unfortunate. Clearly, any proposed date changes need to be cleared with the calendar in future. C.L.A.S apologises most sincerely for this oversight.

Meeting closed 9.05 p.m.
