Patient Portal Guidelines and Rules

The Watts Healthcare (WHCC) Patient Portal is a secure online application that allows access to the electronic health record for registered patients. The Patient Portal helps WHCC achieve its goal of an electronic means of communicating with patients.

The Patient Portal allows communication between the patient, providers and nurses for appointments, test results and non-medical patient inquiries.

PROCEDURE:

The following are responsibilities each patient/user must follow when using the patient portal:

1. You will have 12 failed login attempts before the account is locked.

2. You will receive e-mail reminders from watthealth.org regarding appointments, test result postings etc. Please make security adjustments to your email or computer to receive our emails.

3. You will not be able to reply to our email reminders. For questions regarding emails please send an e-mail to [email protected]

4. If you forget your password request another by clicking on the “Forgot Password” link.

5. Logout and close your browser after using the Patient Portal to reduce the risk of unauthorized use

6. Avoid using a public computer to access Patient Portal.

7. The Patient Portal is provided as a courtesy. There is no service fee. However if a patient abuses or misuses Patient Portal, WHCC reserves the right to terminate the patient’s account.

8. WHCC hours of operation are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Friday. Messages left after 5:00 pm are held for the next business day and are typically handled within 2 business days.

9. If your provider is out of the office, your request may be held until your doctor returns.

10. Communicating through the Patient Portal is not a replacement for communicating with your provider.

11. WHCC reserves the right to suspend or terminate the patient portal at any time and for any reason.

12. The Patient Portal is not for emergency medical conditions – please contact 911 for emergency situations.

Internet E-Mail Address It is the responsibility of patients to keep and active email address associated with the Patient Portal account secure and to inform WHCC of any changes to an email address associated with that account. Patient Acknowledgement and Agreement There is a risk associated with online communications between my physician and patient. At sign-up use of the Patient Portal, patients will be asked to consent to the conditions outlined herein. Patients will agree to follow the instructions set forth herein including the policies and procedures as set forth in the log in screen. No Show Policy The request appointment feature in Patient Portal will be monitored for abuse or neglect by users who don’t fail or do not show for their scheduled appointment. For patients who make appointments online and don’t fail their appointments, WHCC has a policy of warning first offense. If the patient continues to miss requested appointment frequently and without due reason, WHCC has the right to suspend or terminate access to the Patient Portal. WHCC has a courtesy patient transport service. If you need transportation, call 564-4331 to schedule a pick-up.
