Job Requirements

Essential  Demonstrable experience of achieving income targets.

 Experience of working within a fundraising team or similar environment.

 Experience of using IT software including Microsoft Office and fundraising databases

 Knowledge of fundraising best practice and charity law.

 Experience of fundraising strategy development & implementation.

 Excellent and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to network at all levels.

 Accurate, organised, efficient and target driven.

 Proactive and motivated, able to work autonomously and as part of a team.

 Able to confidently engage, enthuse and development long term relationships with supporters.

 Commitment to the voluntary sector, Brendoncare and the needs of older people.

 Willingness to work flexible hours and to travel to Brendoncare’s sites and supporters as required.

Desirable  Educated to degree level or equivalent in experience.

 Fundraising or marketing qualification/training.

 Experience of developing and managing budgets.

 Experience within a legacy fundraising environment.

Job Purpose Responsible for managing the fundraising strategy and generating income against set targets from legacies, individual giving, corporates, events and community.

Detailed Responsibilities

Relationships  Works collaboratively with the fundraising team, trustees, Care homes and Clubs staff and volunteers and the central office team.  Creates and maintains effective relationships with current and prospective organisational and individual donors.  Provides line management for direct reports and deputises in the absence of the Head of Fundraising & Communications.

Principle duties  Support the Head of Fundraising & Communications & Fundraising Manager (Major Gifts) to develop, manage and deliver a targeted and strategic programme of fundraising activities in support of Brendoncare’s plans to achieve agreed income targets.  Manages the Care homes and Clubs fundraising programmes to ensure the delivery of fundraising objectives  Promotes the need and development of the fundraising programme to staff, volunteers, trustees, beneficiaries and supporters.  Manages the development and implementation of the Legacy, In Memoriam, Individual giving, Corporate, Community & Event strategies.  Develops and manages fundraising appeals to support the fundraising strategy.  Ensures effective and timely communications are received by supporters.  Meet with supporters and prospects, and make presentations and face-to-face asks.  Ensure records are well maintained on Raisers Edge and use it as an effective planning and management tool.  Work closely with the Marketing & Communications department in the production of literature and updating of website  Monitor performance and provide regular reports to the Head of Fundraising

General  Maintain high standards of donor care and stewardship.  Maintain an awareness of trends, developments, legal framework and best practice relating to the fundraising, charity, and health sectors and ensure compliance with Brendoncare policy and procedures at all times.  Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Brendoncare’s work, in order to develop a compelling case for support for a range of projects and initiatives.

Corporate Responsibilities  All Brendoncare employees are expected to carry out their duties in accordance with all Brendoncare Policies, Procedures and Guidelines and in accordance with applicable legislation and regulation, in particular the Health & Safety Policy and Risk Assessments.  All Brendoncare employees have an individual responsibility to ensure that they report to their manager any concerns, big or small, in relation to safeguarding the vulnerable adults in our care from abuse in accordance with Brendoncare’s Safeguarding Policy and/or Whistleblowing Policy.

 Promote Brendoncare’s charitable ethos, act as an ambassador for our services and support fundraising initiatives to maximise voluntary income for our charity.

No Job Description can cover every eventuality and the post holder is expected to carry out other duties from time to time which are broadly consistent with those in this document.

Engages the Senior Team, Trustees and other key Vision stakeholders in creating a shared vision which reflects the future needs of residents and club members.
