Charlie Landry Memorial Scholarship

CHARLIE LANDRY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Charlie Landry family has created the Charlie Landry Memorial Scholarship which will be awarded each year to a graduate of Ponchatoula High School and will be available the fall semester following graduation. Selection will be made without regard to sex, race, color, creed or national origin.

The recipient will be chosen by a Selection Committee composed of the following: Ponchatoula High School Principal, Assistant Principal, Guidance Counselor and the Charlie Landry family. The Selection Committee will select the recipient of the scholarship based upon the following criteria:

1. Minimum overall GPA average of 2.5 2. Minimum ACT score of 20 3. Financial need 4. Participation in school activities 5. Character and personality 6. Varsity Letterman (this includes Dance teams, Cheerleading, or ROTC Cadet)

Application for this scholarship will be issued from the Guidance Counselor’s office.

A member of the Charlie Landry family will present this scholarship to the recipient chosen by the Selection Committee at the Ponchatoula High School Senior Awards Day.

This scholarship shall be used for attendance at any four year university with the money credited to the student’s account at the university’s Bursar’s office at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters for four years, providing a 2.5 grade point average is maintained and the student is enrolled on a full-time basis. Recipients must show proof at the end of the fall and spring semesters of a 2.5 GPA. If the recipient fails to show proof of a 2.5 GPA for the semesters, the balance of the scholarship is forfeited.

The award of this scholarship will be the subject to annual review by the Selection Committee which may withdraw or change the scholarship. This annual review will be made at least two weeks prior to Senior Awards Day. CHARLIE LANDRY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The criteria for determining the recipient of the scholarship (divided by semesters for four consecutive years) including the following: (1) minimum overall GPA of 2.5; (2) minimum ACT score of 20; (3) financial need; (4) participation in school activities; (5) character and personality; (6) varsity letterman or ROTC Cadet.

DEADLINE: Turn in to your counselor by February 6, 2017. All applications will be reviewed by the selection committee. The recipient of the scholarship will be announced during the SENIOR AWARDS DAY assembly.
