Minutes of Pta Christmas Fayre Meeting 4Th Nov 2014

MINUTES OF PTA CHRISTMAS FAYRE MEETING 4TH NOV 2014:

Present: Tamsin Baker, Dawn Basnett, Joanna Botha, Bethany Boardman, Adele Chapman, Tory Coke, Emily Davis, Nikki Dawson, Holly Laceby, Karli Lester, Louise Lawrence, Amy Lynch, Maria Millan, Jane McKinney, Kate Parsler, Martine Smith, Charlotte Snell and Ali Stow.

1. Apologies:

Zeita Scott, Ingrid Pearce, Popsie Wooten, Bregje van Tiel, Shila Odedra-Silvera and Victoria Winfield all gave apologies and offered to help at the Christmas Fair.

2. Minutes of last meeting:

The minutes of the AGM in October were reviewed and approved.

3. Christmas Fair progress:

Publicity A poster has gone into inside back page of the Bernwode News. Maria to organise printing of posters.

Apple Juice Maria has obtained 60 bottles. It was agreed to sell these at £3 to make a profit of £76.40.

Tea Towels Staff have organised children’s designs. Tori Coke and Ali Stow to man the stall.

Lucky Dip Gifts remaining from last year – 41 girl gifts and 20 boy gifts to be used for Lucky Dip. 50p.

Father Christmas Father Christmas is booked. Mr Ronane to buy gifts. Leftover Christmas teddies will go in the grotto. Mrs Brunette to man stall. Emily Davis has bought a fireplace background as a donation to decorate.

Name the Teddy One large Christmas leftover teddy to be used.

Face Painting Tamsin Baker and Amy Lynch preparing a Frozen Wonderland/Winter theme face painting stall. Painting snowflakes with glitter, gems and a ribbon in hair. Children to colour pictures while waiting. £3. Will bring a helper.

Racing Game Louise Lawrence suggested a ‘hexbug’ racing game – possibly run by Mr Ronane?

Sweets and Treats Joanna Botha to man stall. Donations to be requested to arrive morning of Fair.

Buzzer Game Miss Laceby to man stall. 50p

Pluck the Turkey Miss Vukomanovic Pin the Nose on the Snowman Mr Owen to man. 50p

Guess the Weight of the Pudding Adele Chapman to man. £1

Sweetie Jar Tombola Flier to go out this week. Children to bring in decorated jars on 28th November in return for wearing no school uniform. There will be a winner from each year group.

Hamper Raffle Children to bring donations of ‘luxury’ food / drinks / Christmas items from 24th to the 28th November. One per class plus one ‘grand’ hamper. Nikki Dawson and Emily to donate wicker baskets.

Ben Sayer designing raffle tickets and Amanda Parsons printing. School council to sell after school - £1 per ticket. Emily Davis, Charlotte Snell and Vicki Winfield to sell as part of ‘meet and greet’ role on the evening of the Fair.

Outdoor ‘Christmas Market’ Gazebos across playground linking hall with Café. Confirmed stalls are flowers, candles, game/meat, pottery, Phoenix Cards, jewellery and photography. All to donate outdoor fairy lights.

Café Popsie Wooten organising and serving turkey rolls and hot dogs. Tamsyn Wood to arrange alcohol licence. Louise Lawrence to organise mulled wine and serve. Ben and Shila Odedra- Silvera assisting on stall.

Setting Up Volunteers needed on Friday 5th from after assembly onwards. Children to be delivered to parents at the front gate after school. Hockey cancelled. Jane McKinney meeting Sarah Venn to organise float for stalls.

Christmas Tree and Carols Tree being organised by Sarah Johnson and Emily Davis. Karli Lester may have some stamps to cut out ‘wishes’ for the tree. Mr Shackleton to play the piano.

Date of next meeting:

Tuesday 2nd December @ 7pm in the staff room to wrap hampers and complete preparations.
