American Degree Recipient, Long Time in the Making By: Jon Martin In 2011 the second person ever from Rowan County received their American Degree. She was the first to receive this prestigious award since Lloyd Dean, in 1951. Ressa Arnett, a 2010 graduate from RCSHS, was awarded the degree at the 84th annual National FFA convention held in Indianapolis, Indiana. To receive this award Ressa first had to earn her State degree, and make and productively invested more than 7,500 dollars in Agriculture.
