Vehicles and the Outdoors: A Flammable Combination
We often don’t realize that vehicle exhaust systems can start a devastating wildfire that can destroy homes and natural resources. Keep this in mind while enjoying the outdoors.
Fire conditions still remain extreme.
We can help prevent these destructive fires by following some simple guidelines:
Follow all fire restrictions – It is important to check with local agencies about any restrictions before venturing off road. .
Keep vehicles off dry grass – Exhaust systems can heat up to 1,000 degrees and
Check your spark arrester – Before heading outdoors clean your ATV spark arrester. This will reduce the chance of a spark starting a wildfire.
Be prepared - Carry a shovel and a fire extinguisher in your vehicle and ATV.
