Career Summary A broadly experienced professional translator/terminologist competent to translate Swedish into English and English into Swedish. Professional Experience J.D. Edwards/PeopleSoft, Denver, Colorado 2000 - 2004 Swedish Technical Translator Translation of interface, reports, and help texts for J.D. Edwards enterprise software  Using translation tools developed in-house, Trados Translator’s Workbench, and MultiTerm, I translated and edited strings and help texts for releases and updates of J.D. Edwards/PeopleSoft enterprise software from English into Swedish. My specialties were financial systems, manufacturing, workforce management, and cross-applications.  Acted as the part-time terminologist for the Swedish translation team, which involved submitting requests for the definition of new English terms and adding Swedish equivalents, and maintaining the Swedish database. I maintained contact with full-time terminologists in order to improve the quality of the Swedish translation. Along with my colleague, I implemented terminology changes to the software.  Served as the enhancement coordinator for improving an in-house terminology database. As such I collected and submitted ideas for improving the database.  Along with my fellow Swedish translator, I maintained and developed contacts with our country office and business partners in Sweden with the purpose of improving consistency and quality in the Swedish translation.  On a two-week business trip to visit one of our Swedish business partners, I met with specialists to solve terminology issues. Upon my return, the resulting improved terminology was implemented in the translation. I also gave a presentation on software translation at J.D. Edwards.  Met with business partners visiting J.D.
