LEGAL NOTICE

Washington State Grants to Neurodevelopmental Centers (Contract Numbers N20058-N20073)

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH), Access, Systems and Coordination Section is considering the extension of state grant awards, contingent on ongoing state funding, to approved non- profit neurodevelopmental centers across the state for the period of July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2017 to provide specialized services to children with special health care needs in Washington State. DOH intends to continue these grants beyond June 30, 2017 as long as state funding permits. Potential grant awards will range from $20,000 to $65,000 per year based on a funding formula to allocate a finite amount of state funds to the qualified centers.

Definition of a Neurodevelopmental Center:

The Department of Health currently defines a Neurodevelopmental Center (NDC) as a “non-profit agency, hospital or other organization in Washington State that provides outreach, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and specialized therapies, including but not limited to occupational, physical, and speech therapy to children up to 20 years of age with special health care needs in Washington State. Each NDC has a formal relationship with a designated medical director with specialized pediatric training and licensed therapists with pediatric training on staff. NDCs maintain an informal relationship among themselves to promote coordinated systems of care and provide leadership on neurodevelopmental issues across the state.”

If you feel you meet the definition of a Neurodevelopmental Center and are interested in responding, please proceed to the survey questions below. Answer YES or NO to questions 1-4, provide any comments you may have, complete the contact information, and return the survey to the email provided below. Existing Neurodevelopmental Center grantees need not respond.

If no new qualified centers respond to this notice, DOH will proceed to award grants to the same existing NDCs. If new potential centers are identified as a result of this legal notice, a new competition will be posted in March and everyone, including existing NDCs, will have to apply.
