Wildlife Trainee: Community (Oxfordshire)

Location: Based at BBOWT HQ, Littlemore, Oxford, OX44XT

Hours: 3 days a week; 12 months commitment required. Exact days flexible, with some evening/weekend work.

We are looking for a Wildlife Trainee to assist the Community Wildlife Manager in Oxfordshire. Duties will include helping manage a small number of Community Nature Reserves as well as supplementary community work including planning/attending events, giving talks and assisting the delivery of outreach session to groups such as Scouts. You will gain experience of working with volunteers and community groups and there will also be the opportunity to learn and practice the practical skills associated with the management of nature reserves. In house and external training opportunities including funding to complete Emergency First Aid at Work and/or chainsaw training are available.

You will need to have a strong desire to work in nature conservation and an interest in encouraging others to take action for wildlife. Enthusiasm, an ability to work with people from a range of ages and backgrounds, physical fitness are essential. Some practical conservation skills are desirable as are relevant qualification and/or experience.
