President – Daphne Marvin The Dressage and show jumping day on Sun 13 March is fast approaching, so 0488766338 don’t forget to hand in your entries this Sunday. We are looking for willing helpers to [email protected] assist with both the event day as well as working bees. A job list will be available on the table in front of the club rooms on Sunday. Secretary – Liz Stevenson The Pony Club year runs from July – June and this year PCAV are asking clubs to 54288156 get all of the money and paperwork in by May. Membership forms will accompany [email protected] this newsletter there will also be hard copies available Sunday as well as on the Treasurer – Felicity Morely website. Our insurance premium payable to PCAV has risen by $10.00 a member 54281709 this year so we have had to adjust fees accordingly. Fees for the first rider will be $230.00 and second rider $210.00. Corral fees are also due $15.00 per year. Fees [email protected] must be paid by the May rally. We have a number of general committee positions vacant as well as DC, Secretary and President. RALLY – PLEASE MAKE Saturday 12th March 3pm onwards to set up show jumping courses (2) and SURE THEY ARE general clean up of canteen and facilities AVAILABLE IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE CANTEEN. We thank Claire Patterson for offering to coordinate the canteen so the good news is canteen will be running as normal this rally.

You may have noticed the lovely photo on the home page this month and we welcome more photos of GPC riders. Uniforms
We were very fortunate to win another grant at the end of last year for uniforms. We decided to purchase winter rain proof jackets that will be available to all current riding members at a subsidized rate of approx $15.00 each. We will let you know as soon as they are available.
Just a reminder that when competing the uniform is either the yellow polo shirt , black jacket, vest or polar fleece or white shirt PC tie and knitted jumper. You cannot wear the jumper with the polo shirt or the shirt and tie with the jacket or fleece. If you need new uniform see Jo in the uniform Shop (big shed) at lunch time. Gear Check: Gear check is compulsory prior to starting your lessons, this also applies to UNMOUNTED riders. Failure to attend a gear check will result in you being marked absent on your card for the day & may affect your eligibility to compete!!!

Events: Entry is up to the individual rider for club events once graded. You can compete at any clubs event. For Zone and Team events, entries are completed by the club – you need to register you interest with the DC. Entry forms can be downloaded from individual club web sites or from the Central Zone site at www.centralzone.ponyclubvic.org.au
Remember: You need an up to date card, pony club competition uniform & medical armband to compete. Showjumping Events: Competitions that consist of Showjumping ONLY
Horse Trials & One Day Events: Competitions that have 3 sections to the event – Dressage, Showjumping & Cross-country.
Super Cross: Horse trails without Dressage. Show Jumping and X Country only. Combined Training Day: Competitions that have 2 sections to the event – Dressage & Showjumping.
Games Days: A day when teams from each Club compete against each other in different “games” contests. Gymkhanas: Events where lots of different competitions are held – some testing riding skills, showing skills & some fun events. Parent or Care Giver at Rallies: Just a reminder that a parent or a designated responsible adult MUST stay with riders throughout the rally. If a child does not have someone at the grounds, then they will be asked to dismount their pony & watch for the rest of the day or until the parent/care giver returns.
