ENG2D Personal Response #2
Your Task: You will write a 300-400 word response to a quote from one of the essays we have read in class. You must write in proper paragraph format. If you type it, it should be in Times New Roman or Arial 12 point font and it should be double spaced.
In your response you must:
a) State the author’s position b) Compare the author’s position to your own c) Clarify and support your position with examples from your own experience or observation d) Reflect on how this issue is relevant to the broader world.
Common areas of weakness in the Personal Response:
The response lacks substance – it has only a vague example or examples without enough explanation or reflection. The response is too short; a response of less than 200 words is insufficient!
The response does not show understanding of the topics raised in the essay. The response only includes examples from the essay with no personal examples. The response does not show reflection. The response does not include the title of the essay and the name of the author
