Many thanks to all who helped pull it off and to those who put on workshops and to Delphine Z. who did a terrific job telling her story.

CoDA World The 2017 CoDA Service Conference (CSC) will be held in the Oct.9-13 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and the International Convention, workshops and speaker meetings start Oct. 13-15. The 2018 CSC and Convention will be in San Diego. The deadline for submitting motions is fast approaching, if your group has any Voting Entity Issues (VEI’s), please contact our Texas Delegates (Theresa K. or Matt G.).

CoDA Texas Welcome As a reminder, group Representatives are requested to attend their local Intergroup Meetings and anyone is welcome to attend the CoDA Texas Board Meetings. At the Spring Board Meeting, we discussed that there may be some money available for new groups from their Intergroup Office. Check with the CoDA Houston or North Dallas Intergroup Office for more details.

Did You Know? CoDA groups all across Texas are desperately seeking male and female sponsors! If you are interested in sponsoring, please attend regular meetings in your area and offer to become a sponsor, even if it’s just temporary! It’s difficult to carry the message to others without adequate sponsors and newcomers need help and guidance. You can sign up on the www.coda.org website as a contact for Texas and you will receive phone calls and emails (probably when you need it most)! This is very rewarding for everyone.

Page 2 Texas 2017 State Assembly Greater Houston CoDA Intergroup will be hosting the Assembly on November 3-5, 2017 in Houston. Linda, Lisa and others are working hard to put together a terrific State Assembly, see attached registration form and agenda. The theme will be “Happyville”. This is a very crucial meeting because this is where the Texas Officers give their Reports about Texas activities, the Delegates report on their experience at CSC and we discuss old/new business and elect new Officers.

Friday evening, we have registration and a get acquainted meeting. There will also be a dance Friday night with Gary G. from the Houston Intergroup – should be loads of fun! The Business Meeting starts on Saturday morning until lunch time. If there are any items left on the Agenda, the meeting is continued on Sunday morning before the closing ceremony. There are usually several workshops during the weekend and a Speaker Meeting on Saturday night that follows the theme of the Assembly and anyone is welcome to attend.

CoDA Texas Events

Campout Committee If you like tent camping, please consider doing service work for CoDA Texas by joining the Committee in charge of the event. The committee needs people who are willing to help coordinate as a healthy service work opportunity. Some places do have cabins available for those who don’t “rough it”! We need more participation in the campouts, if people don’t start participating, we will have to drop this activity!

The CoDA Camping Group invites you to come camping/tubing with us at Krause Springs which is located about 30 miles West of Austin off Highway 71 near the town of Spicewood. Take State Highway 71 west from Austin, cross the Pedernales River, drive 7 miles & turn right on Spur 191 at the Exxon Station, right on County Road 404 & you will see the entrance. Our group has reserved Site 23 & 24 in the past which is a nice, shaded area with water & electricity & plenty of room for campers. No pets are allowed. The site cost is $14/night for camping plus $7 per head/day + each person donates toward firewood & group meals. You must be there before 9 PM or you can’t get in. The reservation name is for Barnes/CoDA if we can get Sites 23 & 24.

Visit the Krause Springs Website for more details: www. krausesprings.net the phone number at Krause Springs is (830) 693-4181. Terry is very nice and more than willing to work with us.

We all had a blast in the past & we invite you to come & fellowship with us, have informal meetings & enjoy the beautiful scenery at Krause Springs which is a privately owned camping & swimming site. There are 32 springs on the property & several feed the manmade pool. Guests are welcome to stroll through the butterfly gardens, swim, tube, swing on the rope swing or just relax at the campgrounds. We usually have a few CoDA Meetings & always enjoy cooking & s’mores over the campfire at night. Saturday evening side trip to Marble Falls Blue Bonnet Café – Best Home Cooking & Pies around.

The next newsletter (Volume 13, Issue 4) will be distributed electronically and by mail in November.
