Technology Focuses Virtualization / Cloud

· 12 years of experience with OpenVZ, Xen, and KVM in an enterprise environment. Have managed virtualized environments with over 5,000 active customers.

· 13 years of experience with VMWare from its earlier workstation days up its broader vSphere infrastructure utilizing a typical RAID environment as well as SAN. Linux Workstation / Server

· 20 years of Linux experience. Successfully implemented Linux services, made use of its stability and security with Apache, NGINX, and Lighttpd for web servers. Configured Sendmail, qmail, Exim4 and Dovecot for email services. Utilized and administered mysql, PostgreSQL and MariaDB. Windows Workstation / Server

· 20 years of experience with Windows Servers, since Windows NT 4.0. Administered Active Directory forests since Windows 2000 Server. Leveraged group policies for network and file security, IIS web services and add-ons, and email services using Microsoft Exchange. Administered Microsoft SQL Server to manage client’s software database tables. Network Switches/Routers/Firewall · Configured core and border router for Local ISP utilization by BGP announce sessions announcing and occasionally un-announcing our IP ranges.

· Configured VLAN and Subnetting to separate customers from other customers and from our internal network.

· Configured rack level and transport/distribution switches for networks.

· Configured Network Flow Analysis to be fed into our Network Analyzer which would determine Null-Routing depending on pre-set flow determination in order to stop DDoS abuse.

Work History Systems Administrator MAY 2016 – PRESENT Enzu Managed Infrastructure and Cloud Services Managed web hosting provide offering virtualized as well as dedicated servers in a 24/7 Network Operations Center.

Network Administrator / Operations FEB 2015 – APR 2016 HostUS - HostMyBytes - Nodeserv - Crissic Solutions Working with small businesses who sell virtualized web hosting services (OpenVZ and KVM). These are fast paced and ever-changing environments dealing with thousands of end customers, who have many complex and differing needs. Summary

 Built central access gateways to securely manage administrative credentials.

 Developed a network monitoring script to notify via cellphone in case of server or network interruption.

 Implemented N+1 backup solutions for business contingency.

 Developed many administrative scripts to streamline operations.

 Developed knowledge bases for customers and workers.

 Provided technical support to thousands of end customers. Major Projects

· (HostUS/HostMyBytes/NodeServ) Significantly reduced customer support time by building a central gateway for support technicians to monitor and make necessary changes to customer OpenVZ and KVM containers. This gateway reduced the need to share administrator passwords and to audit individual servers for rogue user accounts.

· (Crissic/HostUs/HostMyBytes/Nodeserv) Reduced the risk of data loss by developing redundant backup strategies for primary business databases and other important data that gets transmitted through a secure tunnel over the internet twice a day.

· (Crissic/HostUS/HostMyBytes/NodeServ) Developed internal knowledgebase for three of these companies helping them to streamline common support tickets. Designed bash scripts to fix common problems.

· (Crissic) Reduced administration time by half on a 50+ server farm by developing automation scripts to handle server OS / software deployment and abuse. Managed the entire business for six months, cutting ticket response times in half in an environment of more than 6000

Page 3 customers. Cut network response times by approximately 80% by developing a script based monitoring service that would notify appropriate staff via cellphone where a server or network interruption occurred.
