Job Summary
Performs accounting duties, including posting payments, analyzing, clarifying information, reviewing reports, reviewing vendor statements for missed invoices. Perform other related work.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Audits and processes invoices and expenses coming in, by checking “receive” dates, invoice dates, verifying amounts, checking payment terms, ensuring it is the correct vendor, balancing and sorting the invoices, and checking for accuracy once it is in our operating system. Ensuring invoices are in the system and ready for payment. Files items used for auditing by putting information in appropriate packets. Compares vendor statements to statement reconciliation and balances. Makes corrections to the data base. Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Demonstrating excellent verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills. Demonstrating analytical, problem-solving skills.
Ability to: Communicate well by telephone and in-person. Prioritize and perform a variety of simultaneous tasks (multi-tasking). Establish and maintain good rapport with co-workers, supervisors, and others. Be dependable and demonstrate initiative. Perform all tasks with integrity and extreme confidentiality. Manual dexterity for typing 35 wpm, collate, distribute paperwork, data input, attach papers, sort, etc. Perform primary duties with efficiency and accuracy.
Machines and Equipment Operated: Office machines (computer terminal, copier/scanner, 10-key, fax machine, telephone, etc.)
Preferred Education, Experience and/or Credentials: Proficient in use of PC skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook and AS400) Experience applying Accounts Payable knowledge and understanding balancing invoices and payments.
