OBITUARY It is with great sadness we inform you of the death of Graham Lowry of Manby, Louth

Graham was an outstanding stockman working for Mrs Parkes, Manby Farms for virtually all his working life with many credits to his name with Lincoln Red cattle and latterly Limousin cattle

A man with an expert eye and a keen competitor, he however conducted himself with much humor and a massive supporter of youth encouraging and helping young people whenever he could

In recent years Graham suffered ill health and was house bound, however he kept well informed watching our commercial sales and pedigree sales on the internet and very often he would ring for a chat and a leg pull

I will, like many miss Graham greatly and along with his many friends offer our sincere condolences to his wife and family at this very sad time

Graham’s funeral will take place on Friday 20th December at 11.30am at Manby Parish Church and the family is keen for all to attend afterwards at the Village Hall, Grimoldby to give him a proper send off – a great man – a great stockman – and a great friend TB Regulations from Jan 1 st 2013

AUCTIONEER PAUL GENTRY HOME 01522 789152 MOBILE 0780 1032846

191 CATTLE SOLD YOUNG BULLS TO 247.5p OTMS TO 223.5p STEERS TO 232.5p HEIFERS TO 255.5p OVERALL AVERAGE LEVELLED AT 193.90p

If you would have asked me in the Autumn I would have bet a lot of money on Wednesday 18th December 2013 being a very busy and buoyant sale.

However with flagging beef sales and wholesalers reporting chillers full of meat it quickly became apparent that very little was required today with 3/4 of our buyers informing us they would not be in attendance today.

Today trade for bulls was very steady although quality was very thin on the ground, Cull cows and OTMS fared much better with trade very similar on the week.

Rougher bred cattle would have easier on the week let’s hope beef sales improve over the Christmas period.

Many thanks for your support throughout the year Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year
