Upon a motion duly made and seconded, the Committee considered an Analysis and Report on the Fiscal 2014 Draft Budget Guidelines which are under development by the BET’s Budget Committee. A draft of this Analysis and Report was available in writing. This draft was the result of contributions and suggestions by multiple members of the Committee over the previous several days. At the meeting, each District’s members of the Committee provided their comments. Members of the Committee proposed two modifications to the draft report under consideration: firstly to include an Executive Summary at the beginning, for clarity, and secondly to shorten one sentence about health benefits. The Executive Summary was drafted, read and completed. The Committee voted to adopt the report with these two modifications by a vote of 8 in favor, 1 opposed and 3 absent. District 4’s representative voted no, because he would have preferred to consider the budgetary topics later, when the full BET had finalized the guidelines.
No other topics being suggested, upon a motion made, seconded and approved, the meeting concluded at approximately 9.15 pm.
