Textbook
A textbook will not be required for this course. All necessary handouts will be provided in class.
Course Description
This course will focus on the importance of physical development in the preschool classroom.
Course Requirements
1. Attendance and participation are mandatory for the duration of this class. Full attendance will be required in order to receive a passing grade. Arriving late and/or leaving early disrupts the entire class. Please plan to arrive and leave on time.
2. Several group activities will be used during this class. Participation is required in order for students to receive credit.
3. An assignment will be given and will be expected to be turned in on the given due date. No late assignments will be accepted unless previously authorized by the instructor due to extenuating circumstances.
4. Cellular phones and pagers should be turned off or set on “silent” as a courtesy to other students and the instructor. Student Outcomes

Reflective Essay Description
The students will write a 1 page reflective essay discussing their thoughts and feeling towards physical development in the preschool.
Home Work Assignment:
Physical Development Integrated Lesson Plan
Each student will be responsible for creating a one day lesson plan that includes the following components:
1. Literature Choice 2. Music and Movement 3. 1Transition – Fine or Gross Motor 4. 1 Fine Motor Table Top Activity 5. Outdoor Activity
The lesson plan should include the name of the activity, a description of what it is the students will be doing, what kind of physical development the activity is enhancing (fine motor or gross motor), and a Nevada Pre-K standard that supports each activity. You will be given one week to complete this assignment. All assignments need to be either hand delivered or e-mailed to me by Friday, March 9th by 5:00 p.m. No late assignments will be accepted.
