Society of Women Engineers ASPIRE • ADVANCE • ACHIEVE SWE–OC Undergraduate Student Scholarship
The Society of Women Engineers Orange County Section (SWE-OC) was organized in 1983 and chartered in 1985. SWE-OC is a volunteer, nonprofit, educational, service organization whose members support the advancement of women in engineering. Through the generous support of businesses and individuals, scholarships are awarded to women pursuing undergraduate studies in the field of engineering at universities supported by SWE-OC.
SWE-OC will award Undergraduate Scholarship(s) in an amount ranging from $500 to $1,000. The minimum criteria for selection are as follows: Open to women only Student at: o CSU Fullerton, CSU Long Beach, UC Irvine, or UC Riverside Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in an engineering field, such as Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering. GPA of 3.0 or higher Plans to pursue a career in an engineering field The recipients of each scholarship will be announced at the SWE-OC Awards and Recognition Banquet held on May 14th, 2016 (please plan to attend this event). Students are also encouraged to apply for SWE’s Society level scholarships, which are awarded during the Annual Conference (for more information visit www.swe.org).
Note: Complete applications must be emailed on or prior to deadline date for award consideration. The scholarships are competitive and based on the applicant's specific engineering interest, job experience, and academic record. Minority candidates are encouraged to apply.
