Summary

Working to Dogs Trust’s codes of practice and Health & Safety guidelines, to provide daily care for the dogs in the Centre.

Duties

 Under the instruction of the Management, prepare and provide food and water for all dogs in your care, exercise them, administer medicine to them and groom them as directed  Clean, disinfect and maintain to a high standard of cleanliness, animal accommodation, drains, isolation and exercise areas, food preparation areas and surrounding outside areas.  Carry out routine daily health checks on the dogs in your care and report any physical change to Management. Report behavioural changes to the Manager.  Carry out extra duties as directed by Manager, e.g. laundry room, veterinary room, storage areas, etc  Maintain reports, kennel diaries, food charts and any other paperwork. Ensure that these are written up clearly and updated daily, so that colleagues may use them.  Report any faulty or damaged equipment to Management.  Develop a close working relationship with colleagues at all levels  Carry out other duties as directed by the Manager or those in supervisory

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:-  Good communication and interpersonal skills  Be a strong team player  Smart appearance  The role is very physical so a good level of fitness is required  Methodical approach to working practices  Previous experience with animals desirable  Hardworking and enthusiastic attitude  Must be reliable and flexible  Must have a full, clean, manual driving licence  Due to the location of the site own transport is essential
