WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER INTERVIEW

Final Decisions: After today, you should hear from the Office of Admissions in 8-10 weeks by email, followed by postal mail. If more than ten weeks have elapsed without you being notified of a decision, please contact the office at [email protected] . Please note: we cannot give out final decisions over the phone. You may check the status of your application at any time by visiting: https://portal.smhs.gwu.edu/AdmissionsOfficeWeb/

Thank You Notes: As policy, we do not release any information to you beyond the name of your interviewers. If an interviewer gives you their contact information, feel free to contact them. If you do not receive contact information, you may email your thank you notes to [email protected] or you may send your notes to our office and they will be forwarded on to your interviewers. Please note that interviewers cannot discuss their evaluation of your interview or any aspect of your application.

Updates & Transcripts: We welcome updates throughout the application process. Feel free to send these through the Application Portal: https://portal.smhs.gwu.edu/AdmissionsOfficeWeb/. Please DO NOT send transcripts to the Office of Admissions post-interview. You may self report any new grades by using the portal update function. If we need an official transcript, we will specifically request it from you.

Requests for Further Information: Please be aware that the Office of Admissions may request further information from you as we go through our review process. These routine requests may be for updated grades, a letter of good standing from a graduate program, updates on your activities, an updated photograph, etc. You’ll be contacted directly via email if the committee requests any additional information.
