To run Microsoft Dynamics GP on a computer that is running Windows Vista, you must satisfy the following prerequisites:

• Turn off User Account Control (UAC) in Windows Vista before you install Microsoft Dynamics GP. To turn off UAC, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Settings, and then click Control Panel. 2. Under User Account and Family settings, click Add or Remove User Account. 3. Click one of the user accounts that you want to change, and then click Go to the main User Account page under the user account. 4. Under Make changes to your user account, click Change security settings. 5. Under Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure, clear the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer option. 6. Click OK. 7. When you are prompted, restart the computer.

Note If you do not want to turn off UAC, you can install Microsoft Dynamics GP into another folder that is not under the Program Files folder. For example, the default installation path of Microsoft Dynamics GP is as follows:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP
