Overview

Air Space is over 100 interconnected trampolines; a huge spring-loaded urban playground. Solo or social – how our customers choose to jump is up to them. They can improvise their own moves in the main arena, freestyle jumping from one trampoline to the next. Join in with team sports as they’ve never experienced them before . The Air Space Deputy Manager’s role is to assist the Site Manager in successfully running their facility and meet their targets. An integral part of the role is keeping customer satisfaction high and to motivate and support their staff.

This is a challenging and busy role and requires good time management skills, the ability to prioritise tasks as well as good leadership skills. You will need to be able to adapt, make decisions and manage a busy working day based on constantly changing priorities. This may include any aspect of site operation including staff, equipment, facilities, health and safety, customer-care administration and local marketing.

A positive attitude, open mind and a willing and friendly disposition will assist you to succeed in this role.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Health & Safety At all times, and in accordance with Company Procedures and training:  Assisting delivering training through out the year, ensuring all new staff are fully aware of company procedures  Assisting with keeping risk assessments up to date  Keeping record of all checks  Maintaining trampolines, airbags, PPE and safety equipment in good order and recording same  Maintaining facility in good serviceable order including reception, toilets, trampoline courts and café area  Ensuring all participants complete a Disclaimer Form  Ensuring the facility is clean and safe at all times  Ensuring safety briefs, assessments, and facility operation are done in line with Company Procedures  To set and maintain, the highest standards of customer service across the facility  To provide cover with the other staff as required on a daily basis, (i.e. lunch cover)  To assist with the management of the cafe team, and to be responsible for the presentation of the food and beverages offered for sale and completion of admin duties  To assist with monitoring and control of stocks and wastage, undertaking stock takes at regular intervals with the assistance of the facility management team  To work with the management team, on purchasing and other projects as required  To ensure good timekeeping and performance by staff, and to comply at all times with the security procedures and uniform for staff as instructed  To assist in the management of cleaning, maintenance, cafe and instructional staff teams

Team Management Assist in effectively managing the site by:  Assisting the Site Manager in the recruitment of all staff  Reporting performance or disciplinary issues to the Site Manager in line with Company Values and Procedures  Managing staff effectively

Customer Service & Safety  Assist with customer enquiries & bookings  Welcome customers and prepare them to take part in site activities  Ensure all participants: o Complete an acknowledgement / disclaimer form o Are fully prepared to take part in available activities o Comply with company rules on height, weight, age, medical conditions, etc.  Complete briefs in any of the available activities  Do everything within reason to minimise customer complaints and maximise customer satisfaction.

Marketing and Finance: Assist in operating a successful site, by:  Assisting in meeting sales and cost targets as agreed by the directors  Keeping receipts of all expenses and mileage as per company procedures  Assist with marketing at site in conjunction with the team at Hargrave  Tills, cashing up and banking as per company procedures.

Site Development Work with other key staff to develop opportunities at site by:  Building and maintaining good relationships with key parties: Landowners, Go Ape personnel, Funspot personnel, Insurers, HSE and Environmental Health Officers and Go Ape consultants

Personal Professionalism  Read and comply with the company Staff Handbook  As required: o Visit and work at other Airspace or Go Ape sites o Attend training

Person Specification

Essential: 1. Must be able to show leadership qualities and the ability to lead others by example 2. Must be able to work under own initiative without supervision 3. Must like with members of the public 4. First Aid At Work (to be obtained prior to start date) 5. IT skills: Word processing, Excel, etc. 6. Good organisational and administrative skills 7. Customer service background with drive and enthusiasm to achieve 8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy working with others 9. Must be a team player and be able to work with other colleagues in a dynamic business 10. High energy levels with cheerful disposition and the ability to work under pressure 11. Full driving licence and own Transport

Desirable: 1. Previous Management experience 2. Training background 3. Health & Safety and Risk Assessment skills 4. Must be able to demonstrate attention to detail and follow company procedures 5. Carpentry / practical DIY & Maintenance skills 6. Marketing experience 7. Corporate client experience 8. Interest in Parkour or other adventure sports

Prospective Deputy Managers will be required to attend on going training through out their contract at various locations across the UK.
