INSTRUCTIONAL PHILOSOPHY The students will acknowledge the proper physical educational experience. The student will be refining and enhancing motor skills, learning appropriate, competitive, and cooperative behavior, as well as developing a personal fitness profile. It is with these foundations that you can begin to appreciate the importance of living an active and healthy lifestyle.
GRADING: Dressing Out (in required gray or white shirt and black shorts)- 25% Participation- 50% Test/Quizzes- 25%
GENERAL REQUIREMENT: Recommended prerequisite for this course is foundations of recreation sport and personal Fitness
EXPECTATIONS: Students are required to participate in daily class activities. Students are required to dress out daily in proper workout attire. Students will be on time and prepared daily. Students will maintain a safe environment while encouraging the rights of others. Students will avoid bring food or drinks and chewing gum in PE class. Students are required to get permission before living class for any circumstance. Students are required to bring their own locks for the locker room.
DRESS OUT & PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: Students are required to dress out everyday o Appropriate workout clothing includes shorts (appropriate length), NO sweats, or long tights! A t-shirt that is grey or white. In colder months BUT THAT WILL BE ADDRESSED AHEAD OF TIME! a sweatshirt that is black, red, grey, or white will also be appropriate. o A student is required to dress out even on days they are unable to participate (doctor’s note) o Students that do not dress out, for whatever reason, will be required to sign a log- sheet stating the reason they have not dressed out that day, and with the understanding that their grade WILL BE AFFECTED. Students are required to participate every day. o Students who refuse to participate WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN A LOG- SHEET indicating the reason they have refused to participate, and with the understanding their grade WILL BE AFFECTED. . If this behavior becomes persistent the student will be written a discipline referral for insubordination as participation is the main part of a physical education class. LOCKER ROOM PROCURERS Individual lockers will be provided, but students must have their own lock. All belongings should be stored and locked in your assigned locker. Students will be encouraged to not give out locker combinations, keys. Students will be given 5 minutes to get dressed and to get to the floor for roll call. Students will be given an adequate amount of time at the end of class to get changed back into their school clothes.
COOPERATIVE DISCIPLINE PLAN: As student is this class you deserve the most positive and safe educational climate as possible for your personal growth. I believe that together we can make a difference in this process. The plain below outlines the consequences for appropriate and inappropriate behavior.

Students will be given TWO copies of this syllabus – parents must sign the back page of one copy and return with student. Student will also receive a 100 for turning this syllabus by Friday August 26th.
