Chapter 24 Summary

Mark Ryan is familiar with the town enough to get around. He informs Jess that he knows what the culprits were about to do next. He said that they are going to bring in special ops. They are basically government assigned assassins. They will be ordered to kill Mark and Jess without any witnesses and they will clean it up without anyone noticing anything. He knows that whatever they do, they cannot be seen and have to move quickly. Mark does not let Jess give any input to the plan because there was no time to discuss. Ryan lets Jess know that they are headed in the direction of the train station and they need to move swiftly. As they are power walking behind trees, Mark explains to Jess the rules they need to abide by from this point on. He lets her know that she cannot use her debit or credit card and she is not allowed to check her email. They pool their cash together and have a little over one hundred dollars. When they make it to the train, they only go a couple of towns over. As the train is pulling out of the station, Mark sees a black BMW with European style license plates. Immediately, he knows that this car is used by special ops. No matter where they go, the ops will follow. Mark and Jess get to the next town and head straight for the library. Jess is able to crack codes to look up certain people past telephone records. She is unable to trace other Secret Service Agents because she was sure that they had those cleared before the accident. She was able to locate other key people’s records. They printed the records and the immediately left. Mark looked out the window and saw the same black BMW parked outside.
