I am a vastly experienced translator and interpreter in Urdu and English languages. I am also proof- reader, editor and researcher with a wide range of work experience. I am fully computer literate and thrive on working under pressure. I am a team player yet I enjoy working on my own initiative and am well motivated to work alone.

2004 – Present AMA UK ltd Translation of a major book  Translating an 830 page book on the life of Muhammad, from Urdu to English text. It is a subject central to Eastern culture and it has been opined that it is the best book on the subject.

1994 - Present MTA Muslim Television Ahmadiyya, London SW18 Simultaneous Live Translator  I translate from Urdu into English and vice versa simultaneously. It is an extremely high-pressure job, because one has to listen carefully, translate, and speak accurately and clearly, all at the same time. I am on air for about 9-10 hours every week on the above channel (807 on sky)

 I have translated some 150 poems. My translations appear as subtitles on the screen of the above channel.  I headed the Department of translations of this channel from 2001-2004

1994 - 1995 Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, Worldwide Researcher / proof-reader/ editor: Revelation, Rationality, Knowledge and Truth  I extensively researched the Scientific American, a major scientific magazine.  I took dictation from the author, edited and proofread.  I was also involved in the various production processes of the 800 page book.

1994 -1998 Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, World-wide Writer and Member of a Bible Research Team  I assisted and headed the writing the first Islamic Commentary on the Bible. I had to work on my own initiative, as well as managing a team of about 15 people.  I conducted ground-breaking research on the Dead Sea Scrolls,. I wrote several articles on the subject, one of which was published in a research magazine.

1988 - 1989: Southwark College, London. Access to Science Course (Equivalent to A-levels)

Interests and activities:

 I enjoy reading a wide variety of books, magazines, from thrillers to the latest research in Egyptology.  I like photography and am very well travelled, my destinations include: USA, Canada, Egypt, Ghana in West Africa, Holland, Belgium, Germany and Pakistan  I enjoy surfing the Internet.  I have an interest in a stamp collecting.
