Santa will be Swimming an exhibition event Santa will arrive to the meet by helicopter, dress in his red suit, Santa will have a bag with some presents and candy to give away as he walks around the pool, talks to the kids and takes pictures with them. Santa will pick several kids and swim a 25 with them as the rest of the crowd cheers on the swimmers… We intend to make this a fun and unique experience for all the participants. Dates: Saturday, December 17, 2011

Times: Warm-up 10:00am Meet starts 11:00am

Eligibility: Open to all current 2011 USA, registered athletes. Any swimmer entered in this meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement - USA Swimming Rule 202.3.3

Rules: Current USA Swimming Rules and Florida Gold Coast rules will govern this meet. Safety rules as outlined by USA Swimming and as recommended by the referee, will be in effect.

Racing Starts: Any Swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.

Pool: 8-Lane, 25 yard course. The pool depth at the starting end varies from 5ft to 7.5 ft. Continuous warm-up will be available. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with section 104.2.2C (4) of the USA Swimming Rule Book Entry Deadline: FGC Teams: Entries Open- Monday December 1, 2011. Entries Close- Monday December 12, 2011. Host will NOTIFY teams being turned away due to the meet being entry capped by phone, fax or e-mail, within 48-hours of receipt of the entry.

Disability: Swimmers with a disability are welcome to enter this meet. The coach or entry chairperson must alert the meet director, as to the need for any special accommodations or seeding arrangements at the time the entry is submitted.

Entry Limit: Individual Events: four (4) individual events per day.

Entry Procedure: ELECTRONIC ENTRIES ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED. Entries should be sent via email to: [email protected] Submission of electronic entries certifies that all entered swimmers are USA Registered.

Deck Entries: THE FGC DECK SEED POLICY WILL BE IN EFFECT. Deck entries permitted into open lanes only on a first-come-first-serve basis. Deadline for deck entries is 30 min. before start of meet. Policy can be seen at www.fgcswim.org all deck entered swimmers must present current USA Swimming Card or join USA Swimming on deck at least 30 minutes prior to any session.

Surcharge per swimmers: an unwrapped toy for "Kids 5 and under" that will be donated to Broward Children's Center a Provider of a quality programs to infants, children, and young adults with special needs. Please bring it the day of the meet

Seeding: Yard Times will be used for seeding. All events are Timed Finals.

Deck Seed: Deck Seed will be accepted according to the FGC policy.

Age Groups: 8 & Under, 9 - 10, 11-12

Scoring: Individual Events 9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1

Awards: All Individual Events Medals 1st-3rd Ribbons 4th – 8th

High Point: Top 3 Individual Boys and Girls in each age group will be awarded!

Admission: Donations for the Broward Children's Center

Heat Sheet: $2.00

Concessions: Concession stand will be open for the session.

Directions: From the North or South: Take I-95 or the Turnpike towards Pompano Beach and take Atlantic Blvd and go East to NE 18th Avenue. Turn Left onto NE 18th Avenue and continue to end of street to NE 8th Street. Turn Right onto to NE 8th Street and follow the road to the aquatic center. The pool is on the left-hand side.
