Commencing at 0900hrs Ages of riders are as at 1 January 2014

CLASS 1 OPEN CLASS Fences a maximum of 1.10m (3'6") Open to riders of any age riding horses or ponies.

CLASS 2 100 CLASS Fences a maximum of 1.00m (3'3") Open to riders of any age riding horses or ponies.

CLASS 3 ADULT INTERMEDIATE Fences a maximum of 0.90m (3'0") Riders to be aged over 16 years riding horses or ponies. Combination not to have completed any 1.05m (3'6") cross-country course. The first 3 riders will qualify for the 2015 Knockhill Horsepower XC Championships Finals.

CLASS 4 FINAL OF THE KNOCKHILL HORSEPOWER / BHS SCOTLAND SCOTTISH ADULT OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP 2013 max of 0.90m (3’0”) Open to those rider and horse combinations that have previously qualified for the 2014 finals at a qualifying event, riders to be aged over 16 years.

CLASS 5 JUNIOR INTERMEDIATE Fences a maximum of 0.90m (3'0") Riders to be aged 16 years or under, riding horses or ponies. Combination not to have completed any 1.05m (3'6") cross-country course. The first 3 riders will qualify for the 2015 Knockhill Horsepower XC Championships Finals.

CLASS 6 THE KNOCKHILL HORSEPOWER / BHS SCOTLAND SCOTTISH JUNIOR OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP 2013 max of 0.90m(3’0”) Open to those rider and horse combinations that have previously qualified for the 2014 finals at a qualifying event, riders to be aged 16 years or under. CLASS 7 ADULT NOVICE Fences a maximum of 0.80m (2'6") For combinations of horses or ponies and riders, which have never been placed first or second in a cross country or One Day Event or have not completed a 0.90m (3'0") cross country course. Riders to be aged over 16 years. The first 3 riders will qualify for the 2015 Knockhill Horsepower XC Championships Finals.

CLASS 8 THE KNOCKHILL HORSEPOWER / BHS SCOTLAND SCOTTISH ADULT NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIP 2013 a max of 0.80m (2’6”) Open to those rider and horse combinations who have previously qualified for the 2014 finals at a qualifying event, riders to be aged over 16 years.

CLASS 9 JUNIOR NOVICE Fences a maximum of 0.80m (2'6") For combinations of horses or ponies and riders, which have never been placed first or second in a cross country or one day event or have not completed a 0.90m (3’0”) cross country course. CLASS 10 THE KNOCKHILL HORSEPOWER / BHS SCOTLAND SCOTTISH JUNIOR NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIP 2013 max of 0.80m (2’6”) Open to those rider and horse combinations that have previously qualified for the 2014 finals at a qualifying event, riders to be aged 16 years or under.

CLASS 11 PAIRS CLASS Fences a maximum of 0.80m (2'6") Open to riders of any age riding horses or ponies. The first 3 pairs will qualify for the 2015 Knockhill Horsepower XC Championships Finals.

CLASS 12 FINAL OF THE KNOCKHILL HORSEPOWER / BHS SCOTLAND SCOTTISH PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP 2013 max of 0.80m (2’6”) Open to riders of any age riding horses or ponies, combinations that have previously qualified for the 2014 finals at a qualifying event.

Speed measurement for each class will be in mpm and per BRC guidelines:

No refund of entry money will be made after the closing date of 19 September. Any late entries after 19 September will be charged an additional £5 charge per class.

AWARDS Knockhill Horsepower/BHS Scotland Cross Country Championships 2014 - Prizes in kind to third place generously presented by BHS Scotland. Rosettes will be awarded to sixth place in each Championship Class.

Prizes in kind to third place will be awarded in each NON-CHAMPIONSHIP class. All these awards are generously presented by BHS Scotland. Rosettes will be awarded to eighth place in each class.

HEALTH AND SAFETY The Organiser of this event has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the Organiser and all officials and stewards.

RULES AND CONDITIONS 1 The organisers reserve the right to cancel or combine classes, alter advertised times or refuse entry. 2 It is a condition of entry that: a any person when mounted must wear a riding hat to a minimum of PAS 015, ASTM F1163 or EN1384 correctly fastened at all times; b Medical armbands and back protectors must be worn. 3 a Entries will close at 1800hrs on Friday 19 September 2014. All entries must be accompanied by the appropriate entry fee with cheques payable to "British Horse Society Scotland". b Entries MUST be submitted by post. No telephone entries will be accepted. c No refund of entry money will be made after the closing date. 4 Competitors requesting a preferred start time within their class should advise the Secretary on their entry form. 5 Approximate times of starting will be available on the website: www.bhsscotland.org.uk and by telephoning the BHS Scotland office on 01764 656334 from 10am up to 5pm on Thursday 25 September 2014. 6 The course will be open for inspection from 1400hrs on Saturday 27 September 2014. 7 Any complaint must be made within 1 hour of an incident occuring in writing accompanied by a £25 deposit to the Secretary. The deposit will be refunded if the complaint is upheld or at the discretion of the Chief Steward whose decision is final. 8 All horses and ponies must be 5 years old or over. 9 Riders may compete a maximum of twice on same horse i.e. individual & pairs. 10 A notice will be displayed at the Secretary’s Caravan to indicate whether competitors may continue on the course following elimination. 11 Please ensure that all litter and general debris is disposed of responsibly. Please do not muck out your horsebox in the horsebox park. 12 All classes will be run under BE Rules. All classes will be judged to an optimum time. Stopwatches are forbidden. 13 No farrier on site.
