RE: Performance Improvement Plan (PIP)

On September 19, 2015, you were provided your 2014-2015 Annual Review Summary. I suggested a Performance Improvement Plan be developed for you. The reason surrounding the need for the PIP is your need to focus on teaching. In addition, I met with you on September 3, 2015 to discuss student questions. The following will serve as a PIP for you for AY 2015-2016.

Focal Point: No syllabi posted for any FS 15 course as of September 3, 2015. To date syllabi are incomplete, missing from syllabi include specific times for office hours, does not list the required textbook information, all syllabi do not include a schedule of class meeting dates, tests and assignment due dates. Final exam dates are not provided in any of the syllabi. There is also incomplete course withdrawal information.

Expectation: All syllabi are to be updated in conjunction with the rubric provided to you in the FS15 welcome email.

Focal Point: The FS15 began August 24. As of September 3, 2015, the only content provided for students was an introductory discussion board.

Expectation: After meeting with the Dean the decision was made to place co-facilitators in all of your courses. The co-facilitators are there to help you. You are encouraged to reach out to each co-facilitator for questions regarding the courses.

Focal Point: Assessment of student performance is inconsistent or non-existent

Expectation: All assessments are to be graded within one week of submission by your students. The grades are to be posted in Blackboard within the timeframe and reviewed by the co-facilitators.

It is my sincere hope that these reasonable expectations will be met and that we can put this matter behind us as we continue to achieve the goals and mission of the Department.

Sincerely

An affirmative action/equal opportunity institution
