Organizers of NGC2011 conference in Russia invite academic and industrial researchers to present tutorial, expository and original research papers dedicated to solving scientific and technological problems in electronics, photonics and renewable energy such as atomic scale materials design, bio- and molecular electronics, high frequency electronics, fabrication of nanodevices; magnetic materials and spintronics; materials and processes for integrated and subwave optoelectronics, nanoCMOS, new materials for FETs and other devices, nanoelectronics system architecture, nano optics and lasers, non-silicon materials and devices, quantum effects in devices, nano science and technology applications in development of novel solar energy devices, and fuel cells and batteries. We also invite inventors, entrepreneurs and business leaders to explore the unique opportunity provided by our interdisciplinary forum for technical due diligence and potential commercialization of emerging new technologies. Sponsors and exhibitors are welcome and will be supported by the organizers in their needs for networking and marketing of their products and organizations.

The conference is, hosted by Moscow State University and NT-MDT – leader in nanotechnology instrumentation, will include tutorial lectures (Summer School), scientific symposium, exhibition and satellite workshops on nanotechnology innovations, instrumentation and standardization. The conference organizers have made agreements with Springer and the Institute of Physics Publishing for publication of the papers from the NGC2011 meeting in a tutorial book and special issues of two high ranking international journals, Nanotechnology (IoP) and Nanoscale Research Letters (Springer).

Nanotechnology is the first journal devoted to papers at the forefront of nanoscale science and technology. The journal has seen remarkable growth in size over the last few years and is published weekly. This growth has been achieved with an increase in quality of published articles, which is reflected in the journal’s growing impact factor ((2009 impact factor 3.137). Nanoscale Research Letters is the first nanotechnology journal from a major publisher to offer open access. Even though the journal is very young its credentials have grown remarkably fast (2009 impact factor 2.894).

The Nano & Giga Challenges conference series has an established reputation as a unique interdisciplinary forum in nanoscale science and technology. The first three meetings in the series were focused on electronics and photonics. In response to the growing demand for alternative energy, the topics at NGC meetings were extended toward renewable (solar) energy and energy storage. The same materials used in semiconductors and the same fundamental science form the basis of electronics, photonics and solar energy thus making interdisciplinary forums such as NGC important hubs of expertise and knowledge transfer. Nano & Giga forums are quite popular among established experts and young researchers alike. Large number of leading Russian scientists which are working abroad plan to participate in the meeting. Nano & Giga forums provide an excellent opportunity to network with the experts in a comfortable environment that is designed to stimulate creative discussion among those who share a passion to uncover the deep secrets of Mother Nature and develop technologies to better serve our society.
