Congratulations! Your child has been selected to attend the all-district 8th grade choir festival known as Choir Fest. Approximately 35 select choir students from each of the 6 middle schools in District 196 will participate in this event. You and your child should be very proud of this honor!

The 13th annual Choir Fest for district 8th graders will take place on Friday, February 5th at Eastview High School. Participants will receive a packet of music, as well as web-based rehearsal tracks and T-shirt. Lunch and morning snacks will be provided, but please make sure your child receives a proper breakfast. Rehearsals will continue until 3:00pm. A free public concert will begin at 3:30pm. Pre-Fest rehearsals:  January 7th Girls & Boys – 6-8pm  January 28th Girls – 5:30-7:30pm • Boys – 6:30-8:30pm Fest rehearsals are held at Falcon Ridge Middle School – please enter at the lower level.

In order for your child to participate, please complete the following permission slip and return it with the participation fee by Monday, November 23 th. The fee will offset costs for snacks, lunch, T-shirt, and also pays for festival planning, music, conductor, accompanist, piano tuning, etc. This is a school related, excused absence. However, it is your child’s responsibility to check in with teachers and make up work that will be missed on the day of the festival; please be prepared for the next class day. *** Please make checks payable to “ ISD 196” ***

A section of the auditorium seating will be reserved for their belongings – less is best!

Concert dress will be the festival T-shirt, black pants/skirt (no yogas or sweat pants), dark socks/tights and dark shoes. This may be worn throughout the day, or they may change before the concert. Students are encouraged to have a sweatshirt available during rehearsals.

Parents are responsible for transportation to and from EVHS. Please ask your choir director if help is needed arranging carpools. Their director will take attendance by 8am. It is essential for students to be picked up at EVHS no later than 4:15 p.m.
