Greetings from the Maryland Committee

November 9, 2008

Greetings from the Maryland Committee:

Our first networking event will be Friday, December 12 at Bowl America in Glen Burnie, MD. We have printed flyers for this year’s conference packets to advertise for the event. The event will be from 5pm to 9pm with giveaways and hopefully an ornament exchange. This event has been well-attended for the last several years.

**We are hoping to have webcast for those schools who could not attend once all details are finalized.

Also, next year we will change the name of the workshop to: School Counselors Workshop. The State changed their titles from guidance counselors to school counselors.

We have not received final word from Maryland Public Television regarding “You Can Afford College.” With all the changes to the 2009-10 FAFSA, their budget may not allow for the broadcast this year. Pat Shoemaker will give us an update at our next MD Meeting.

Respectfully Submitted, Nasim Keshavarz
