The following rules and regulations are especially for the Dallas Mexican American Baseball League (DMABL), and are an amendment to the regular rules and regulations governing the American Baseball League. (Professional League)
1.) Player ID Cards A. Only official league ID cards with the official DMABL seal shall be accepted to identify if a player is registered to play.
B. Any team using an illegal player (not registered with the league to that team) will forfeit any official game in which that player has participated.
C. If a player switches teams he will need to turn in the uniform. If a player is removed an announcement should be made to all teams. If any team adds a new player an announcement should be made as well.
D. If a team drops more than one player, the players can not play together in any other team for the rest of the season.
2.) The limit of required players in any team is twenty-two (22). (This includes managers and coaches)
3.) If any manager or player touch or insult an umpire, based on the violation the Board Directors will decide the punishment. The President will have the last call.
4.) If any player protests because a player plays in another Sunday league he will have to show evidence. A. Any player violating this rule shall be suspended for three (3) games.
B. Any player violating this rule for the second time in the same season shall be suspended indefinitely.
5.) The regular meetings will begin at 8 PM sharp.
A. Any coach or team representative who arrives late will be fined $5.00.
B. A $10.00 fee will be fined if a manager or team representative does not attend the meeting. The individual can not miss two (2) consecutive meetings. If this was to occur the individual will be suspended the following game.
www.dmabl.com Page 1 de 4 6.) The first team listed on the schedule will be considered home team and will occupy the first base dugout.
A. For any reason the home team fails to supply the cushion for the bases, the team loses the home team.
7.) The uniform consists of the following: A. A baseball cap with the logo or letter(s) consistent with the rest of the team.
B. Jersey with name or logo in front, with number(s) in the back, and color(s) consistent with the rest of the teams. Jerseys can not be interchanged between players of the same team. Violation of this rule shall cause for a protest. C. Baseball pants consistent with the rest of the team.
D. Baseball cleats or spikes.
8.) Any player suspended or disciplined either from a game or the league shall remain at least fifty (50) feet from the field of play, foul lines, and the backstop behind home plate.
9.) If a player is injured he may remain in the dugout only or be removed to be attended by a physician. 10.) Any game played under protest will require the score book to be signed by the home plate umpire with a specific notation as to the nature of the protest. (The team presenting the protest shall deposit $25.00 with the league Treasurer. If the league President finds the protest invalid, the team has the option to appeal to the league Commissioner with a further deposit of $25.00. If the Commissioner finds the protest valid, the team’s $50.00 deposit will be put into the league Treasury.)
11.) The play-offs will be played between the first and second team in each division (must win two (2) out of three (3) games). The winner will advance to league championship play-off. The American Division’s first place team will play the National Division’s first place team to win three (3) out of five (5) games. These games will be played on Saturday and Sunday. The Board Directors will decide any changes.
12.) If two teams are tied at the end of the regular season, the team who beats twice the team finishes with the best percentage record if they split the season there will be an extra game. This will determine who will advance to the play-offs.
www.dmabl.com Page 2 de 4 13.) In order for a player, coach, or manager to be eligible to participate in the play-offs, he should have played in at least three (3) regular season games.
14.) In order for a former Major League or Triple A player to play in the league they must have two (2) years without playing for them. This league only accepts three (3) college players, everyone else can play.
15.) The minimum age for a player will be fifteen (15) years. (A fifteen (15) year old player will only be permitted with written permission signed by one of the player’s parents or guardians.)
16.) A team that does not present a full complement of players within fifteen (15) minutes after a game has been scheduled to start will forfeit the game.
17.) This rule requires all managers to write in the line up (score book), the name and last name completely as it is written on the contract and on the player’s identification (credential). Names without last names or nicknames will not be accepted. The manager that does not obey this rule will be exposed to a protest of the game and the penalty will be a game lost. NO EXCEPTIONS!
18.) The contracts must be given to the league Board Directors with two (2) pictures otherwise the player will not have a credential, and for this reason he can not be admitted as a legal player. If a player does not fulfill these requirements, the decisions of the penalty will be taken by the Board Directors.
19.) To all managers that will not be present at the meetings during the season, post season, play-offs and championship will not be notified about penalties. Please take the responsibility to attend or send a team representative to the meetings. The punishment will be enforced without notification. NO EXCEPTIONS! 20.) To register a team you will need $100.00 deposit. The team will have to pay one week before the season starts. The team that does not pay the total deposit will not be participating. NO EXCEPTIONS!
21.) If any team deposit money to participate in this league, and after a while changes their mind the league will not return the money. This is to protect the league. NO EXCEPTIONS!
22.) The league will use three (3) types of baseballs; Diamond (green letters D1), Wilson A (1010), and Rawlins (R100) only.
23.) To play in this League you have to know, obey and respect the DMABL rules.
www.dmabl.com Page 3 de 4 24.) All teams that participated last year will stay in their same division this way no confusion will be caused. The new teams will be drawn.
25.) Managers and players will not be allowed to consume alcoholic beverages before or during the game, if you are caught you will be punished. After the game it is at your own risk!
26.) Effective 2010 the league will have presidential elections one week before the summer season is over. Only the teams that participated in the summer season will be eligible to vote. If the manager can not go and vote he can send a coach, or else not vote at all. NO EXCEPTIONS! - Per the majority of the managers. If the President resigns the Vice President will become the President.
27.) There will only be one permission per team, and only if there is a good justification which the Board Directors will analyze. If the teams do not come to an agreement on when these games will be played the Board Directors will decide the time and date to play the pending games, giving preference to the team that accepted postponing the game and a second permission will be reviewed in detail.
28.) If a team violates a rule of common agreement to play a game it will be at their own risk, the Board Directors do not permit any rules to be violated.
29.) If a manager or coach can not assist to a meeting, a team player can assist only if that person is a registered player for that team.
30.) Any members of the Board Directors, who posses any paperwork, information, or monies received during their term, shall return all items related with the league to their successors after: resignation, firing, or when their term ends. Failure to comply will result in a permanent ban from the DMABL, as well as permanent ban from participating as a Board Director, and will have to turn in all belongings within thirty (30) days.
