Sensi-Care Adhesive Releaser Spray Information sheet/Protocol for Use What is it?

The Sensi-Care Adhesive Releaser Spray is a product that releases the adhesive bond, providing patient friendly way to release adhesives including tape, ostomy appliances, steri-strips, and Tegaderm. It is alcohol free, fragrance free, dye free, sting free, Latex free and hypoallergenic. The skin will be free of residue after use. The spray is 100% Silicone. The contents of the container are sterile (150 ml can).

Who can use it?

The Sensi-Care Adhesive Releaser Spray is safe for all ages. The spray can be used to release nearly all adhesives, and is safe to release Central Line/PICC Line dressings.

How is it used?

Spray Sensi-Care Adhesive Releaser directly onto the edge of the adhesive to be released, wait a few seconds (approximately 4-5). Gently peel the adhesive away from the skin, may use additional spray if necessary. The spray dries in seconds, and once dry will not affect the adhesion of subsequent dressings/appliances or the current dressing/tape should it need to be reapplied.

If the adhesive:

-is on the patient’s face

- is near an artificial airway or mucous membrane

-OR-

-if the patient is on isolation:

Spray Sensi-Care Adhesive Releaser into a clean medicine cup, scoop the product out with a cotton- tipped applicator, and apply.

 Once the spray can container is empty, it is safe to dispose of in the regular trash.

 The spray can container cannot be tubed via the pneumatic tube system.

 The spray can container should not be left in a patient’s room; it must remain in the medication room for multiple patient uses.

 The spray can container should be cleaned using disinfectant wipes (Sani-Wipe) after each patient use.
