Pioneer Middle School Health/Fitness department uses a traversing wall. This means that students are no higher than 4 feet off the ground at any time. The challenge is to move across the 44ft. length using the hand holds and foot holds without falling off. It may look easy, but it takes upper-body strength, flexibility, coordination and decision-making skills to successfully navigate a course across the wall. Students will be given an opportunity to develop their climbing skills during their Fitness classes. The Fitness teachers have received special training in how to supervise and instruct students on rock climbing safety and participation. Please review and sign the student release form below and return the completed form. All students must have a release form on file before they will be granted permission to climb on the wall.
