Celebrate New Year’s Eve Downtown Enjoy dancing, comedy, mystery theater, live music and more to ring in 2010

Dayton, Dec. 21, 2009 — If you’re looking for something to do on New Year’s Eve, downtown Dayton has you covered. Downtown’s many restaurants, clubs, theaters and hotels have plenty of options for everyone. See below for a list of some of the events taking place at various downtown venues:

The 88 Club, 219 N. Patterson Blvd. 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Live entertainment, a toast and balloon drop, and drink specials, with a breakfast buffet starting at 3 a.m. 21 and older. Call 937-266-2622 for cost.

Spaghetti Warehouse, 36 W. Fifth St. Join Mayhem & Mystery for a special New Year’s Eve presentation of its holiday production. Mrs. Claus is tired of the all of the leftover toys and gifts cluttering up her house. She’s convinced Santa to sell the extra toys on the Home Steals and Deals Channel. Their show, Clean-up Deals with Claus, is an immediate hit. But when some of their inventory and their assistant vanish, the Clauses must discover who is behind these terrible deeds. Wiley's Comedy Club, 101 Pine St. 7 p.m. show & 10:30 p.m. party Mike Toomey headlines the two shows, joined by Brian Hicks with Rob Haney as emcee. Toomey is a comedian and impressionist who’s appeared on HBO, MTV’s Half Hour Comedy Hour, A&E’s Comedy on the Road, and The Bob and Tom Show. The party includes snacks before the show, party favors, toast and an after-midnight buffet featuring sandwiches from Subway and Milano’s, wings from BW3 and Fricker’s, Domino’s pepperoni pizza and more. $15 for show and $37 for party.
