 President Rick Edinger called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

 An attendance roster was distributed for signatures.

 Minutes of the February 2011 meeting were presented and motion made by Wayne Green and 2nd by Paul Logan to approve as presented.

GOOD AND WELFARE

 No business for the Good and Welfare of the Association was presented.

TREASURER’S REPORT:

 Treasurer Chuck Guice provided a report on the Association finances.

Motion made to accept the report by Larry Logan, 2nd by Mike Glass Motion passed by unanimous vote.

OLD BUSINESS:

 Conference Update Eddie Berry provided the membership with a brief update on the Conference. The attendance numbers are up approximately 50 folks and Vendors are up 4. Pre-Conference classes held at the York County Training site were well attended also. Hall B will be used for the Exhibits giving us additional room.

 Association Activities Review President Edinger briefed the membership on activities that the Association participated in throughout the year. The Association had a presence at the State Chiefs Conference, the VEMA Conference, the State Firefighters Conference and the IAFC HazMat Conference. The Association also had representation at the CFSI Dinner in April. We also supported the Team Leaders Luncheon held in March. If anyone is interested in helping with any of these events in the future, contact President Edinger.

 York County Training Facility Update Chris Sadler gave an update on the York County training facility. A Locomotive and numerous Railcars have been secured and their delivery is expected soon. The pre conference classes being held there are well attended. Chris also recognized CSX and Mike Austin for their substantial contribution to further develop the facility. If anyone is interested in visiting the training facility, contact Chris.

NEW BUSINESS:

 Grants and Scholarships Paul Mauger gave an update on the Grants and Scholarships. Over $5600 was given out to various agencies and individuals. The Equipment Grant of $1000 has been awarded to Danville Fire Department and the Walt Sivertson Scholarship has been awarded to Ashley Mauger. The balance of $3650 was awarded to 7 different departments and 12 individuals in the form of McTague Training grants. Everyone was reminded that their membership must be active to qualify for the Grants and Scholarships.

 Membership Report The membership numbers as of now stand at 420 Individual/Team which is consistent with last years numbers and 12 Business Members which is a slight increase. Renewal reminders will begin going out in Mid-December for 2012 Dues. If renewing as a Team or group, contact Todd Dyer for invoice and be prepared to provide a Team List.  John Conover Sr. was nominated for Life Membership in February. John meets the requirements as specified in the Bylaws. A motion was made and 2nd to grant John Life Membership and was passed unanimously.

 Legislative and Bylaws Committee The Legislative and Bylaws Committee had no report.

 Training Committee The Training Committee Had no report.

 Election of Officers for 2012 Butch Jones reported that for the Election of the Offices of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer there were no nominations other than those presently serving. Multiple requests for Nominations from the floor were made, with none being made. A motion was made by Woody Evans to vote on those offices by acclimation and was 2nd by Paul Logan. Passed by voice vote. One Trustee position is up for election. The Trustee’s position currentlt held by Woody Brown is up for Election. Both Woody Brown and Glen Rudner have accepted the nomination for this position. A vote of the members present re-elected Woody Brown to the Trustee position for a period of 3 years.

MISCELLANIOUS:

Motion to adjourn was made by Mike Glass and properly 2nd by Chris Spurlock. Meeting adjourned.

NEXT MEETING to be held February 23, 2012 at 7:00pm at the Virginia State Fire Chiefs Mid- Atlantic Expo – Exact Location and Time TBD.
