THE FIVB DEVELOPMENT FUND

The broad objectives of the FIVB Development Fund are to multiply opportunities and to support developing actions of all National Federations, Confederations including their zonal © 2010 FIVB Technical & Development Department

2FIVB DEVELOPMENT FUND 2010 APPLICATION FORM bodies, and a special consideration is foreseen for category I and II National Volleyball Federations, without excluding category III, IV and V. No support is granted for direct administrative support or to projects that fall under already existing FIVB financed programmes.

The aim is to assist with direct implementation of new development projects that are likely to improve the performance and situation of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball at the national level, allowing National Federations to develop and grow through close collaboration with their local stakeholders, governmental agencies and other collaborating organizations, private or governmental. Projects should demonstrate that they have adequate administrative capacity and are realistic, both in terms of implementation and by obtaining measurable results.

The yearly allocation of the FIVB Development Fund is decided by the FIVB Board of Administration and the affairs are managed by the FIVB Development Fund Steering Committee.

The FIVB Development Fund main objectives are:

. To ensure that broad aim of the FIVB mission is met in terms of development actions, namely to raise the profile of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball promoting self driven actions towards future sustainability . To help developing National Federations in an efficient way to progress with their development projects and future goals . To allocate funds to projects that are likely to make impact and show real outcome for the sport and its structure at the national level . To ensure growth of youth players and youth teams, and appearance of Volleyball in schools at both national and regional level . To support up and coming National Federations to develop competitive national teams through targeted projects, team building and talent identification programmes . To analyze and support joint projects in collaboration with governmental agencies as well as other relevant National Federation‘s stakeholders

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THE FIVB DEVELOPMENT FUND

National Volleyball Federations and Confederations including their zonal bodies are entitled to submit their applications to the FIVB Development Fund, provided that the application has been approved by the Continental Confederation concerned.

Each National Volleyball Federation that submits an application must be in good standing with its Confederation and the FIVB.

Each National Volleyball Federation that submits an application shall have an acting General Secretary and fully functioning Board of Administration. The General Assembly must have been conducted during the last two previous years. Each application can only cover one project, nevertheless more projects are receivable for one Federation. © 2010 FIVB Technical & Development Department

3FIVB DEVELOPMENT FUND 2010 APPLICATION FORM The development fund grant is paid out during the project lifespan in line with the contract established between the FIVB and the party concerned. If a project will run over more than one year the FIVB financial support may be granted year by year according to a concrete monitoring by the respective Confederation and eventually also by the FIVB.

The FIVB Technical & Development Department will maintain records on each project and follow up on it together with the FIVB Finance Department.

The priority will be given to development programs for Mass Volleyball and School Volleyball.

During the last meeting of the Steering Committee in Rome, September 2010, it was decided that as a main principle no financial support will be granted for the following:

- Building of infrastructure, such as offices, competition hall, etc.

- Costs for the teams to participate in competitions

- Creation of a development centre, nevertheless the material to run such a centre may be granted
