RACE CONDITIONS

0. All crews must row in their club colours. 0. The minimum weight of all coxswains is 55kg. 0. Scratchings must be handed to the regatta secretary by 10.00am on race day. 4. Crews are to take up their positions in the lanes shown in the programme or as allocated on the day. 0. Crews must be at the starting point at least five minutes prior to advertised start time. Crews late to the start may be excluded from the race. 6. No time allowance will be granted for a clash of events or boat use. Coaches must elect the events to enter without relying on any time allowance. 0. All races will be started by horn. A second horn denotes a recall. 8. Crews proceeding to the start must keep to the inside of the course. 9. All boats must be identified by a securely fixed bow number to indicate LANE number. 0. All coxswains must wear an approved and serviceable life jacket and all boats must carry an approved white bow ball. Bow coxed boats must comply with NZRA safety requirements. 11. Names of crew members and seeding information must accompany entries. All scratchings and substitutions of crew personnel must be made in writing to the Regatta Secretary at least one hour before the race. Entries must be made on official forms provided. 12. Assume that there will be divisions in each race. To assist with the draw, please give us a realistic assessment of which division each crew should start. A space is provided for this on the entry form. Where sufficient entries are received to justify dividing the field into divisions, handicapping may be applied to provide crews with quality racing. 13. BOPRA nor Rotorua Rowing Club will not accept any liability for any accidents on race day. 14. Late entries will be accepted at the discretion of the BOPRA/Rotorua Regatta Committee. 15. Late entries: those received after 21st October 2009. 0. All entry fees must be paid prior to the Regatta. 17. Every effort will be made to maintain the published regatta programme, but the organising committee reserves the right to alter the schedule as deemed necessary. 18. 19. This is a non-status regatta and is conducted under the rules of NZRA and BOPRA, subject to the modifications set out in these conditions and approved by BOPRA. Exclusion of all Tort Liability of Whatsoever Kind Bay of Plenty Rowing and Rotorua Rowing Clubs remind Rowing Clubs, schools and rowers participating in this Regatta that while every care will be taken by the Regatta Officials to ensure that the Regatta is conducted safely and efficiently, and in accordance with the rules of racing established by NZRA and BOPRA, it is the responsibility of Clubs and/or schools to ensure that those rules are complied with, and of rowers to comply with them to ensure safe rowing activity. Further it is a condition of participation in this Regatta that all participants accept and note that no liability either in tort or in any other nature whatsoever is accepted by, or will attach to the NZRA, BOPRA or Rotorua Rowing Club for any harm, damage, loss, costs, expenses, inconvenience, interference of whatever nature and whatever kind, including any damage to equipment or injury to persons of whatever nature incurred in the course of, or in connection with, or in any way related to the Regatta, regardless of whether any error or omission, wrongdoing, oversight, negligence, or other tort whatsoever on the part of any Regatta Official or other person, may be established.
