The Town of Smyrna Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Recruit. We are looking for an individual with strong integrity and problem-solving skills to join our growing organization in this role. You will maintain order and protect life and property by enforcing local, state, and/or federal laws, in addition, you will patrol areas, direct traffic, issue traffic summonses, investigate accidents, apprehend and arrest suspects.
Police Officer Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; College credit in criminal justice or related field preferred Must be 21 years of age at time of employment and hold a valid driver’s license Physically capable of performing duties (running, climbing, lifting and carrying heavy objects up to 50 pounds, subduing or restraining persons) Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Must pass background check, medical and psychological exam, and drug screening Excellent communication skills, including de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention
STARTING RECRUIT PAY: $48,160.32
