Overview Address Validation can be executed within EASE via the Pre- Order Request or within the Local Service Request (LSR) on the End User form. The information contained in this document should be followed to facilitate a successful response.

Pre-Order From the EASE Order list, select New from the Pre-order tab. Initi atio To execute an address validation, complete the Pre-Order n Initiation Screen by entering the following information: Scre en Field Name Field Function Transaction The system will pre-populate this field Name (TXNM) with a numeric value. The User can override this information to better track their transactions. For example, TEST001. This field cannot contain duplicates. Trading Partner Select the Trading Partner. Service Center Select the Service Center associated with the location of the address. Transaction Select Type of Inquiry: Type (TX Type) A = Address Validation C = Customer Service Information T = Listings for Telephone Number Initiate Button Initiate the Location Inquiry. Cancel Close the window and cancel the transaction.

Note: Activities: B, C, D, F not used by CenturyTel. RVER Release version. CC Company code/OCN. STATE State Abbreviation

Address Information: Field Name Field Function QR Quantity Request. WTN Working Telephone Number. AAI Additional Address Information. Identifies additional location information about the address. CenturyTel will utilize this field for the complex address name. CAI Concatenated Address Information. Free flow text.

Address Service Address Group – Required: Validation The minimum entries on this screen include: House Number Screen (SANO), Street Name (SASN), City, State and ZIP code. All (continued) fields should be entered in CAPS.

Service Address Group fields include: Field Name Field Function AFT Identifies the format of the address being supplied. Valid Entries: A – Rural route and/or box number, B - Unnumbered, C - Provider Assigned house number, D - Descriptive, or E - Provisioning Address. SAPR Service Address Number Prefix. Identifies the prefix for the address number of the service address. SANO Service Address Number. Identifies the number of the service address. SASF Service Address Number Suffix. Identifies the suffix for the address number of the service address. Note: This field could contain fractional values e.g. 1\2. SASD Service Address Street Directional Prefix. Identifies the street directional prefix for the service address. For example: N=North, S=South, E=East, W=West, etc. SASN Service Address Street Name. Identifies the street name of the service address. SATH Service Address Street Type. Identifies the thoroughfare portion of the street name of the service address. For example: LN=Lane, BLVD=Boulevard, etc. SASS Service Address Street Directional Suffix. Identifies the street directional suffix for the service address. For example: N=North, S=South, E=East, W=West, etc. LD1 Location Designator 1. Identifies additional specific information related to the address. Address Service Address Group – Required (continued): Validation Field Name Field Function Screen LV1 Location Value 1. Identifies the value (continued) associated with the first location designator (LD1) of the address. LD2 Location Designator 2. Identifies additional specific information related to the address. For example: building, floor, unit, room. LV2 Location Value 2. Identifies the value associated with the second location designator (LD2) of the address. LD3 Location Designator 3. Identifies additional specific information related to the address. For example: building, floor, unit, room. LV3 Location Value 3. Identifies the value associated with the third location designator (LD3) of the address. City Identifies the city, village, or township. State/ Identifies the abbreviation for the state or Province province. Zip/Postal Identifies the ZIP code or postal code. The Zip Code code should be valid for the state where the service address is located.

Important Notes: Abbreviations:  The CenturyTel Address Validation uses 911 addressing. Therefore, addresses in the database are reflective of the manner in which each individual city, state or community entered them. This will result in variances in abbreviations. For example, Avenue may be found as AVE or AV.

Highways:  When validating addresses which are highways, you may want to try the following variations: a. US XX (where XX = the highway number) b. US Hwy XX c. HWY XX

Address Important Notes (continued) : Validation Numbered Streets: Screen  Numbered streets are normally in the database using the (continued) numeral but they may also be spelled out. For example, Second Street may be 2, 2nd or Second. It is recommended that you first try your validation using just the number. For example: 2.

Upon completion of all necessary fields, click the Submit button to execute the address validation.

Address Based on the information entered on the Address Validation Vali screen, the system will execute the request and provide a dati response. The response results will display in the IRM field. on For example: Exact Match, Alternatives Exist, Facilities Not Resu Found, etc. lts Scre en Response Response Definition Exact Match The address information entered has been executed successfully. Alternatives Multiple addresses met the criteria Exist entered. The user will need to review available addresses displayed for the correct address, change the criteria and re-validate. Facilities Not The address is valid in SIG. WILSERV Found cannot verify the address. No CenturyTel The address is not in CenturyTel’s location. Address Found for This Address

Address not unique: Notice SATH was not entered on Inquiry screen and response has SATH = AVE. User would select the Change button, update SATH on the inquiry screen and revalidate.

Overview Complex Address inquiries can be entered utilizing the Additional Address Information and Location designator fields. Enter the minimum required address inquiry fields plus the Additional Address and Location Designators. For example:

Additional Address Information and Location Designators: Field Name Field Function AAI Complex address name. LD1 Description types: UNIT, APT, ROOM, RM, FL, FLR, BLDG, STE, COMM. LV1 The value associated with the Description Type. For example: 1, 100, etc.

Note:  The LD description type can be placed in any LD1, LD2, or LD3 field.  The associated value will be placed in the corresponding LV1, LV2 or LV3 field.

Save After the Pre-Order result is displayed, the user can save the result for future use by clicking on the Save button at the bottom of the Address Validation Results Tab. The message, “Request and Response saved successfully” will appear at the top of the screen once saved. Click the Close button to exit.

Search To initiate a search, return to the Pre-Order screen and select Over Search. The screen displays the search criteria at the top and view underneath a list of all the pre-order results that have been saved. At the bottom of the screen, it displays the total number of saved results. Click on the number next to the Results Page or arrow to display the next ten results.

Search To search for specific PONs, enter your search criteria in the Overview Pre-Order Search section and click on the Go button. It will (continued) return all the PONs matching the search criteria.

Pre-Order Search Fields: Field Name Field Function TX Num Enter the Message ID that initial Inquiry and Response was saved. User can perform wildcard searches using the % symbol. Trading Select the trading partner from the drop down Partner box. TX Type Select “A-Address Validation” in the drop down box. Public If checked, it will search for all the pre- Search orders, unlimited to the user id. If unchecked, it will limit the search to only the user id. TX From MM/DD/YYYY format. Enter the begin date in Date the MM/DD/YYYY format or click on the calendar to select the begin date for the date range search. TX To Date MM/DD/YYYY format. Enter the end date in the MM/DD/YYYY format or click on the calendar to select the end date for the date range search. If left blank, it will perform a search up to the current date.

The Clear button will erase all of the entered search criteria and returns to the original state with the default values displayed, where applicable.

Navigation The following buttons are available on the Address Validation Overview screen:

Address Validation Buttons: Button Name Button Function Initiate Sends the query for validation. Displays the message, “Waiting for Pre-Order Response” while processing the request. Cancel Clears data and returns user to previous screen. Close Closes the Inquiry or Response Tab and returns to the Order/List page. Save Saves the Request and Response and displays the message, “Request and Response saved successfully.” Printable Displays Print Preview page of the Version Request/Response. To print, click the Print icon. Change Allows the user to make changes to the fields on the Inquiry Tab.
