ACADEMIC TRAINING

The Ohio State University School of Music, Columbus, Ohio M.A. in Vocal Pedagogy Graduate Assistant: taught class voice and music electives, performed regularly.

University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL M.M. in Choral Conducting Graduate Assistant: directed choirs and sang as mezzo soprano soloist with the small, select Chamber Singers. Performed studied in Poland, sang at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. and in the Miami Area at conventions.

St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana B.M. in Music Education and Piano Toured Europe twice with Notre Dame/St. Mary’s Performing Choir, was a regular soloist.

VOCAL PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE

Performed in the following shows:

 The Pirates of Penzance, Columbus Light Opera, Columbus, OH, one of the sisters  Kiss Me Kate, Boston, MA, had the third lead in this Boston Regional Theatre Production, sang and danced “Too Damn Hot!”  Sang with the Boston Symphony Orchestra Chorus, Boston, MA Performed at Tanglewood in Western Massachusetts  Cabaret, Wheeling, WV, a Kit Kat girl. An Oglesbay Institute Performance  Little Mary Sunshine, one of the girls, Hyde Park Players Cincinnati, OH

 Voice Recital at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Worthington, OH, Sept. 13, 2015 Performed selections from Bernstein, Barber, Faure, Brahms, and favorite Broadway selections  Mezzo Soprano Soloist, St. John’s Episcopal Church, Worthington, Ohio  Plays Piano and sings Broadway, American Songbook and Jazz Standards at McConnell Arts Center, Gallery Openings, restaurants and senior gatherings  Mezzo Soprano Soloist, Kenyon College, Gambier, Ohio, Mozart's "Regina Coeli," Eberlin's Mass in A Minor for Chorus, Orchestra, and Soloists  Voice Recital, Methodist Theological Seminary, Delaware, Ohio, Performed selections from Dowland, Telemann, Schumann, and Spanish folk songs.  Voice Recital, Newman Center at OSU, Performed some songs of Joni Mitchell and some of the following selections:“Home” from The Wiz, Everything Must Change, jazz standard, Selections from “Missa Gaia” from The Paul Winter Consort with a local jazz ensemble.

PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE

Voice Instructor, Kenyon College, Gambier, OH, 1990 - 1992 – 2016 - Present  Teaches voice to undergraduates  Prepares students to perform in operas, recitals and musicals at the college

Capital University, Community Music School, 1994 – 2001  Taught Voice to Middle School students through adults

McConnell Arts Center, Worthington, OH, 2013 – present.  Teaches classes including “Musical Theatre Workshops,” and “Class Voice.”  Performs at Gallery Openings.

Independent Music Studio: Massa Music Studio, 1992 – Present, 1678 Bethel Road, Columbus, OH, 43220. • www.massamusicstudio.com.  Teaches voice and piano to eighth grade students through adults  Prepares singers for college, musical theatre productions and solo work  Prepares students for OMEA contest, NATS auditions and other competitions

Hilliard Community Music School, Hilliard, OH, 2013 – present.  Teaches voice and piano to middle school through high school students  Prepares students for OMEA contests, NATS auditions, musical theatre auditions and productions  Prepares high school students to major in music
